I mean come on! Just check this guy out... If you dont believe he is better than any of these metal guys, then your brain is broken

Technically great, but I'm afraid my brain is broken ?. I haven't heard much of Rusty , but what I have heard hasn't done anything for me. What specific tracks should I be listening to?
Wessel
He is a awesome guitarist but there is allot of guys that is better than him, not faster but better. And I am a fan of his but he is not perfect. His compisitions is built only on his speed and the flaunting of it. He also uses allot of keyboard and synth tracks with his lead parts that makes it sound faster than it really is. Almost all his videos and betcha can't play this stuff that he has done is just mindless shred runs, that basically anybody can do if they practice it long enough.(Almost like guitar hero) Its sometimes difficult to seperate Flash from actual good guitar playing. He has a mix of both...

Wessel, my maaan, nicely put ?
Always nice to hear a shred-addict talking about tasteful shredding.
AlanRatcliffe
My first thought was "that's an oxymoron", but I like too many tasteful shredders like Morse, Vai, Govan, Howe, etc. to really believe it.

I bought his solo album. He is FANTASTIC technically but I think he needs time to mature. The album is fullout shred all the time with very harsh tone on the guitars. I was a little disappointed in the band's phrasing in parts. I think they could have spent a bit more time perfecting the phrasing. He is probably the fastest guitarist I have seen though.

But I must unfortunately agree with Wessel....

I think one should take each guitarist in for what they do b
If one thinks about it, some of the most favored guitarists out there are technically good but i find them irritating. I mean really, yngwie malmsteen for example, if i hear anything of his these days i can get a fit, all his stuff sounds the same, but can you learn stuff from him ? Sure! He is a neoclassical god but appart from doing that he is very plain. From rusty you can learn speed, clean playing and technical aspects of playing.
One must appreciate each player for what he does best. Some people just dont have the skill to write melodic things and others do.
