A quick notice to ask everyone to please NOT block ads on GFSA if you find the site useful. They are what pays the rent and ensure that the next time you come here, we are still around. It also means we will never have to consider going to a paid subscription based business model (which we really do not want to do). Please note that this is not a rule or a demand - just please bear it in mind.

Also please consider following our advertiser's links if you are in the market for the products and/or services they sell - let's support those who support the site and help make this forum possible.

Also know that if you are on limited bandwidth or have a small cap (as it were ?), we understand that you may be forced to block ads and will not hold it against you.

Alan & Norio
First site I felt compelled to remove adblock for... costs nothing for regular click throughs (although the casino ad ain't my bag ? )
You know, I find that I wait so long waiting for musicads.co.za that the only that I can even read this forum, let alone participate is to use an ad-blocking addon for my browser. It's not ideal, and I fully understand the importance of the ads to GFSA, but my choice currently is either to not see the ads or not see the forum at all.

Sometimes I have to resort to using a proxy web surfing tool which strips the ads out for me without asking.
unblocked ads and surfed a few supporters ?
I have no issues with the adds, they load fine and run smoothly 99% of the time. Apart from the Liquid design one that still loads in front of the menu.

And I'm not clicking on those www.ratcliffe.co.za adds though! Seems way too dodgy... I need to have a talk to Norio about those. ?

I've moved the ads from MusicAds.co.za to GuitarForum.co.za itself. Please try again and let us know if it still causes you issues. I really hope it works!

so apparently we can meet single women who like guitars?

Music and guitars...made me laugh too ?
I guarantee even if they love guitars after half an hour with me they'd never want to hear that word again :-[

Worst idea for a dating site ever...

Hahahahaha Totally C.A.B. My brother used to (still does, we just no longer share a house) call my guitar-speaking habit (When you're excited about a new song, a new guitar, or a prospective new guitar, it is really really really hard to think about something else, let alone talk about something else), the Guitar-da-dah-da-dah.
A girl asking me about guitars is tantamount to her asking me to do my best to repel her.

At this point in time I actually do my best to avoid telling people I play entirely, never mention it if I can get away with it, only problem being that once they ask me what my job is it's kinda a given that they'll connect the dots :?
I'm quite enjoying the offkey ads. Admittedly there's only a few funny ones.

I work sales for the wholesale division of a big musical instrument importer, we bring in some fairly popular brands ?

...and the prize for "Biggest understatement of the Year" goes to...

                            ?
I see that now in your sig, and feel slightly silly.

That said, I have met some guitar salesmen (at retail and wholesale level) who were awful at playing guitar...so your secret may yet be safe.
You can be sure that if I ever hear your name casually thrown around in conversation by some young ladies, I will make sure I mention how you don't play guitar at all.

I may throw in a little something about how loyal and reliable you are too...and couldn't leave such a conversation without sharing that story of the time you saved an entire litter of puppies from a horrible and certain death.
What a mighty fine,. non-guitar-playing man.
I'm not seeing it when reading GFSA via my notebook, but on Blackberry I'm getting annoying pop up ads. Worse still, they don't always close. Sometimes you click the "close" button and all that vanishes is the button. On the PC it may be Adblock that is keeping them at bay.
Bob, if you're logged in, you won't see the OffKey.co.za ads. If you're not, you will. That would likely explain the discrepancy.

However I hope to change this so that everyone sees it every 1-3 days as it will go a LOOONG way to help pay the bills.

I have no solution for your BlackBerry right now.

Honestly don't even know what a guitar is? Is that one of those things that you hit with those pieces of wood? You know with the tingly sounding metal discs? ?

Same problem as Bob. It's making checking in on the site nearly impossible. Can't even log in most of the times because as soon as the home screen comes up, a lame ass "joke" thing will appear that refuses to go away no matter I click on - for all pratcical reasons locking me out of the site. Now, I kow it's worth the effort to keep trying to get in because of the sites content, but a person just trying to access the site after a random search or something will just give up I reckon and go look elsewhere.
