There's also Sean's suggestion about trying to establish if the myth of tonewoods is a myth.
I suggested that? ??? :-[ I
believe that "myth" about tonewoods ? Up until I joined the forum, the only difference I could hear comparing acoustic guitars was that some were "brighter" than others, and to be honest, I don't think I even knew what that meant. After reading all the threads about tonewoods, I still have not taken the time to sit down in a music shop somewhere and play a couple of acoustics to try pick up the different tones. When it comes to listening to recorded tracks, I'm still a lazy listener, I don't try and listen to what is different about the guitars :-[ :-[ :-[

So something that I can offer, and which some of you might find useful (then again, some of you may find it yawn inducing) is a sort of intro lesson to travis picking (finger picking style - alternating thumb bass parts with simple syncopation on the higher strings). So if that's of any interest then please shout.
Before developing an interest in the electric guitar, I was barely a mediocre acoustic player. I don't think I'm even that anymore. So yes, I'm interested ?
