I own a couple of Nick Edge telecasters amongst others.
Anybody know much about them. i recently acquired a Marshall 85th Anniversary 2x12. Got rid of my fender Blues reissue, the sound was too glassy for me. The Marshall in my opinion has more rounded sound.

Nick Edge used to operate from home in a suburb near Sunninghill. He was an engineer who used to repair/setup guitars as a hobby. This eventually became a full time thing. He now lives in England. I remember him starting to make guitars.
He used to distribute WD parts as well

Ouch, remind me never to do that ?
I had some dealings with Edge Guitars while he still was in Sunninghill. Nick was a very pleasant man, and they obviously had a passion for electric guitars. The Strat and the Tele copies he had in the shop seemed nicer than the real thing. I would not mind having a Edge Tele ?

Nick used to live down the road from me in Woodmead, Sandton...he used to setup guitars for me.
If I remember correctly his son used to work with him, I remember watching them make a Tele neck.
            Nice guys.

Now let's talk about your amp...damn I love that amp, definitely the best amp I've ever played.
I was about to buy one but I chickened out, the 50watts was just overkill for my current living situation.
I think the magic of the 85th Anniversary is the two different speakers, one Heritage and one Vintage, amazing tone.
How much did you pay for it?
I also had dealings with Nick - Mainly on the WD stuff.

Aw, Nick edge were the best. They were my primary doctors until they left to set up shop in UK. Now the only guy who deserves work from me again is Mando-used to work at Andy's now at Music Connection-.

Nick edge were the guys who designed the "traveller guitar". I think they might have sold the design, and you can sometimes see the traveller advertised in guitar magazine overseas. Not sure if they were the first guys to design it or just copied an existing idea, but ether way, these guys had awesome guitar gig bags too.

So Nick is my brother, now lives in Chinnor, Oxfordshire. My son found this conversation - Nick and his son Alan both had an amazing passion for guitars. Nick mad his first guitar in 1962, about the time the Beatles were it! From memory it was a red Strat (I'm younger so am going by photos). Al is also in UK, about 30 minutes from Nick. Don't think any guitar work has been done in a while.
