Looks like you guys had tons of fun!
Some nice pics on FB as well!
Will join you cats next time!
Riaan
Nice Fritz! I'll definitely join whenever I can. Looks like it was a lot of fun.

I had a great afternoon. Cool ppl, beautiful guitars, and some really groovy licks on electric guitar... :woohoo:
Thanx for that Y'All and thanx for the boerie roll too :applause:
I dismantled my acoustic guitar's pick-up and found the intermittent bad connection that's been bugging me for a while now.
Sorted it out, restrung and polished, (though an acoustic would still not have stood a chance with all those electric guitars going :-[)
She's now ready to add some acoustic blooos to the afternoon... 8)
A luvvly afternoon indeed. :applause:

Lekke!
Glad you okes enjoyed it. What do you guys think, shall we do this once a month? Every two weeks?
Reinhard
I vote for every 2 weeks.
@Renesongs: It would be really cool if Rene can give us the key and chording for each song, because the tabs I prepared were a bit off and it would be a great learning curve for those of who aren't familiar with all the different chord shapes. I could put all the lyrics into MSWORD form and if Rene can add the chords, I will get all the chord shapes, add them to the lyrics and send them out to everyone.

I will be able to join at least once a month, not that I know how to pay blues ?
Always ready to learn new things!

How's the hand doing?

You are right! I should have the blues, but I'm a metal head without a soul, so nothing can keep me down!
I played some guitar on Friday night, early morning hours of Saturday morning. The Brandies kept the pain down, but on a serious note, I have huge blood blisters now. At least I can type with the hand again!

Apart from being a great organiser Fritz can sing the blues (to our suprise). With Fritz organising the event and Rene organising the guitarists this collab worked great. The bass and drums are now essential, and really gave impetus to a bunch of guitarists looking for that driving rhythm. Thanks to all.

The jam session was great guys, I had loads of fun playing some guy's(sorry didn't get your name) Cort on reverb.
Was a good jam, thanks for organizing it and I will attend the next one.
Was good meeting all you as well.

Really keen for the next one, think its only right to charge a minimal cover charge to cover the cost of the venue. R10pp? excess can be used to put towards a PA or more boerewors ?

@peters
Good looking guitar, what is it?
FatBoy
Yea I did lose out a bit on the braai this time around but I expected as much.
Like I said, the venue costs us R100 a day. Maybe we should have 2 rates, one just for jamming and one that includes the boerewors rolls, as I realise not everyone actually wants to eat.
I think next time I'll put my hat at the door so we can all sommer pitch in up front, I'm not the kind that will chase people for money, so I don't want any hassle with this.

Fritz, if it's you who is doing the cooking there should be an option for those that want to eat but not play.
FatBoy
Hahahaha, good point Bob! I will look into the matter!

I brought some wors and rolls with me but I couldn't find the braai. It was at the house away from the barn.
So I packed it away in my cooler box and ate one of the boerie rolls that was brought to the barn.
Next time I'll surely bring a contribution. It would be better if the braai was right there at the venue though.
I'll bring mine along on the back of a bakkie if need be...?
I'll certainly love to do this more often. ?

I also thought it'd be a better idea if someone bought a half gallon drum brai and we put it right outside the roller door side so that guys can jam and still hear etc. While you guys were braai'in we didnt stop playing ?
FatBoy
No problem dude. Will be a couple of hiccups but we'll get it sorted.
Yea I wanted to braai up there as well, but the issue is that there is no water up there, so if a fire gets out of hand we may have an issue. This being a farm, fire is a big risk that should not be taken lightly. I will try to make a plan though.
I tried getting you buggers to stop jamming and follow me to the braai, but getting you okes to lay your instruments down was a lost cause ?
No worries, we'll get it sorted!
I think it will be easier if I buy the wors and rolls and everyone just pitches in, but the other option is of course a bring and braai.
kingr
Thanks for the beer Fritz. ?
I'm cool with pitching in money for the jam...no problem.
We really don't expect you to cover all the cost.
Hope the braai logistics will be beter at the next one.
I really didn't wanna leave so early!!

My name is Peter Swart, after everybody asked me which make those luminous strings are, I will put in some effort to find out, and purchase some more.
