So I have been offered to join a band and I have accepted. I will be the youngest there. And I am very nervous. :-\

No dude. If this is your passion (and it really seems like it is) then the only thing that could go wrong is if they disappoint you. Don't worry about you disappointing anyone.

The thing about meeting new people, is it takes practise. You can only get used to it by doing it. Maybe not your kind of guy, but Morrissey said, "Shyness is nice/But shyness can stop you/from doing all the things in life you'd like to"

I agree with SingeMonkey. I had some phobias too and I kind of overcame them with over exposure. Like stage fright (for example).

hey Seventhson, I agree nothing more intimidating, but be prepared to have a few laughs and perhaps at your expense sometimes (gotta be cruel and lay it out there), but it's good for you and things will fall in place. We've ALL got the ability to get along and make music so no need to hold back.

How long have you been playing now ? What type of music do you like to play?

I hve been playing for three years. Mainly thrash and heavy metal. I have to learn some alternative songs like him(just learnt now.) And it is very easy compared to slayer. The drummer just needs to get better and the bass before we start complicated stuff. The guitarist has been playing for ten years I hope to pick up some stuff from him

To begin with you're going to have a great Saturday this week. Look forward to that. Why dont you listen to a whole lot of the kind of music you anticipate that you'll be playing in this band. Just to pick up the gees and purge you of all that satanic metal rooi gevaar stuff?

Well the reason they are playing alternative is that most metal songs bass and drums are not that easy and he has only been playong for a couple of months so has the bass. But they are keen on learning so easy black sabbath and metallica songs.

I can Guarantee you that you ALL will stuff up sometime during the practice. That's why you have them, to get the stuff-ups out of the way before you go Gigging.
Just try and relax. Amazing things tend to happen when you enjoy yourself, so go with the flow and good things will follow. Guaranteed.
