He really is a talented man. He plays for megadeth and really has a good stage presence. And is a very good man. I sent a private message on a metal forum and he answered. Is there any one else here find him very good.
    yeah, he's hardcore. very cool.
The other reason I like him is the fact he smiles and looks like he is really enjoying it. Not like most metal guitarists were they look like they just want to murder somebody.
Chris is a great man and a really good guitar player.
All his peers describe him as humble and kind

He is easily the best guitarist that Megadeth has ever had. Lets hope he doesn't get abused by Mustaine LOL. A great classical guitarist too. Check out some of his classical pieces on his site and on Youtube.

            I still prefer Marty ?

Agree. I guess many would say Marty Friedman but I never was a fan of his.

Broderick is awesome. Just plain intimidating actually, as a player not a person. He is one seriously dedicated individual, I remember reading how even as a kid he'd spend hours and hours learning different instruments (piano, obviously guitar and a few other instruments too as I recall.)

Before Megadeth he taught, you could do a 1-on-1 lesson with him via streaming internet video, it was explained on his site. A lot of these uber guitarists seemingly need to support themselves by teaching, they're far from being big rock stars. Kinda sad. Ron Jarzombek is another one. So it makes sense he answered a pm but still - very cool!

There's a Youtube vid of him and Jeff Loomis trading solos when he was in Nevermore that's also very cool. Two utter virtuosos. What I enjoy about that too is knowing that he's fully classically trained while Loomis can't even read music - many ways to climb that mountain.

PS - HAHA while typing this the previous reply regarding Marty came in.

I agree. I'm a big Marty fan. Not taking anything away from Chris. He is a great guitarist.
But Marty's hair looks flammable.. ?

No I also really like Marty. I love his playing in odd beats till the multiple equals a multiple of the time signature. It's just my opinion that Broderick is more advanced on technical side (8 finger tapping, great classical player). But I appreciate that this is probably close to impossible to measure. Although I think I experience Marty's solos as more suited to the Megadeth sound. I don't know. Just my opinion and opinions are subjective.
Marty's solos were very good. And chris plays them with precision. I just really like chris for one I was so stoked that he answered my pm and that he is a very well spoken man. And he does not have the you will never be as good as me complex. He gave my some tips on guitar playing that has really helped.

Yes that would have made a big impression on me too. Humility is rare amongst most people IMO. It's great to see it in someone who is that incredibly talented.
I also asked him if they would ever come here. He said he will discuss it with dave. And he said he would love to visit this country.

Goodness. I'll be there!! I wonder how Dave would respond. He seems a little volatile having a bad relationship with almost every ex member of Megadeth.

Well I must admit I think those two get along with each other. There is chemistry there on-stage when they play live. And just how dave talks about chris shows that dave has respect for him.
im sure dave had respect for all the brilliant guitarists he played with... but he's just a douche bag... but i still love him. hahahaha. and no one plays marty solos like marty... but chris is brilliant.
"A little volatile" hAHAHAHA. A little volatile like napalm or Uranium 235. Hehe. He has wisened up over the decades though.

Even though I prefer Broderick to Friedman* I'd say there's definitely something in that statement. Like I said in my Endgame album review I posted here a few days ago, I'm not 100% convinced Broderick's ultra-advanced playing is the ideal match to the Megadeth style semi-old school riffing. Not saying it's bad, it's just more suited to a more progressive band.

*Actually I haven't heard much Friedman era Megadeth, only in passing. It's some of Friedman's solo stuff I'm actually thinking of, not a huge fan. It's not bad, I'm just not a fan.

I think chris plays them better. But that is just my opinion.

you will die for that opinion
And who will kill me. Chris will protect me lol.

I just don't like what Dave did to Nick Mensa. That was a little weird.
