Hi All
Ok, so I have decided to save up for the Bose L1 Model 1 and buy in SA. However I need a system to hold the fort in the mean time.
So today I see that the Stage Pas 300 is on special for R5995. Looks like an great little system that is easily portable and according to reviews has great clear sound. Ill be off to test it tomorrow but thought I'd check in here to see if any of u have experience with it.
Also when I get the Bose system I can always get an active sub and crossover and use the Yamme to provide sound for my wifes DTXpress 3 Special drum kit.
The main reason I want the Yammie (and bose) is to play guitar in my coffee shop and to use with my band for my guitar and vocals as I have a Tonelab Modeller.
What say u?

Hi Clinton
I have used one for a couple of years and it will work well in a coffee shop. I have used it in a 300 seater church before and it's very loud and clear, but the best is the size of the unit. You cant believe the sound this little system puts out.
I have used this with a Keyboardist, Percussion and 2 Guitars and a Mic and the sound was still clear.
But I dont think you can go much bigger than a coffee shop.

Thanks Squonk
I think my main reservation o the system is the 8" speakers. I'm hoping they can handle the open c tuning of my acoustic. I remember playing in the mugg and bean through a couple of peavey 12" and they did not like the low frequencies pushed out by this tuning.
I wiil be taking my acoustic with to test tomorrow.

Pretty nice little PAs - lots of clarity, great for smaller acoustic gigs and one or two man bands in smaller venues. I would have reservations putting an electronic kit through though - unless you are playing at very low levels. The kick drum takes a lot of the headroom in a smaller system...

hi Alan
when the system is used for my wifes drums it will be coupled to a 15" sub and xover so wont be a problem.

Active sub? That should work fine.
clinton
Yeah active sub (maybe even an 18" 8))
I really like the look of the system and think it will work great. I've always liked Yammies and this is a real good price I think.
What do u think the possibilities of using it for my guitar and vocals will be for say weddings/pubs. The rest of the band will have their own amps and PA's.
