Well all the ones I ended up with are great in my opinion. I ended up taking 16 with the majority being Mullards and Philips Miniwatt, with a couple of Telefunkens and Siemens or 2. All the ones I saw were unboxed and obviously being stored this way in the humid Durban climate and salty air, the pins all had a bit of oxidisation but that all cleaned off with a bit of contact spray. I tested each valve in my JMP, one by one in the V1 socket, together with a brand new set of CP Tung Sol reissues and listened for noise, tapped gently listening for microphonics and also compared the output volume compared to a new Tung Sol and most either met or exceeded the Tung Sol's output volume.

I'm no expert on these things and that was about the most scientific way I could figure out to test them without the proper test equipment. I returned 3, 2 of which were down on output volume and one that was noisy, and all 3 were replaced.

I don't know how many 12ax7's he has left, but contact him and see if he has anything you want, and I'll try to help you out if I can.

Yes, it is Richard. I bought a compressor from him last month and as soon as I saw the room in the photos, I recognised it. He has some great amps... Budda, Bogner, Matchless, and he said there were more that weren't at his house. Awesome stuff.

Looks like a good deal. R3500 is about the going rate for 2nd hand Epi LP's but seeing as this is a Korean made guitar I think it's a good find. Snap it up. Just make sure it is in fact Korean made and not Chinese made.
