A good exercise might be to start analysing those chords. What notes are in an A? What notes are in an Am? Where else can I find those notes on the neck? Then you will
a) have several ways of playing each chord. This comes in useful for extra colour in arrangements, playing in different keys, playing with another guitarist (so you don't both just play the exact same part).
b) will increase your familiarity with the fingerboard, which can only stand you in good stead.
