Hi, some help please. I am looking for an easy way to record some stuff. After searching the threads I saw Alan recommend a behringer ucg102 to another member. I Googled it, and it seems to be what I am after. Just a few questions - Will I be able to record using the modelling effects (drumbeats included) from my G-dec, or will I only be able to use the NI software that comes with the package? Secondly, to what format does it save , wav, mp3. And lastly, I wanna do the deal with muz.co.za. Any idea on how their payment and delivery system works? Anybody use them before? Any advice or feedback welcome.

I bought a kick from them in March. Paid with a credit card, had no issues or hassles, I think the kick arrived in about 4 days via courier.

Tripp just got a Hamer guitar from Muz and Yuri delivered it personally to his door. I doubt you'll get that level of service to Kimberley ?, but it bodes well.
This is the first I hear of Sounds Select - their "About Us" page tells me nothing other than someone there can write flowery marketing bumph containing no real info. No customer testimonials either. I can see they are based in JHB, but other than that, they are an unknown quantity. Anyone else know anything?

Thank you for responding. Theres another place in Durbs also offering it cheaper, but I would rather pay more and have a little peace of mind than go for a bargain and be dissapointed. Personal front door delivery will be marvelous, I will not lie, .... but I'll settle for delivery in one piece within a week or two. I have a full version of Cool Edit Pro 2 and a Fender G-dec amp, so my main concern is compatability. Hate to look forward to something and then it doesnt work the way I expected it would.

Where in Durban?

the ugc is for pluging your guitar straight into the pc , i assume the g-dec has a line out , if thats the case then i would rater look at the uca202 / uca222 which is better suited recording direct from the amp .

Donovan - The place was called Better sound electronics, I think. Bookmarked the page on my laptop, so I'll just make sure tonight. Had a 031- contact number. Tailon - thanks for the advice. I saw the 202 and the 222, but didnt know if it will work (I'm a bit of a techno-noob...) I will look into them as well tonight. Any other suggestions?

Thanks to Tailon I'm going to go with the UCA102. So karma to Tailon!

Hey - I bought the 102 two months ago and couldnt be happier - I use it plugged into my usb via a multi-effects pedal and it works a charm. I got mine from www.soundz.co.za - very accommodating and delivered the next day, though it doesn't seem like they have stock at the moment

Thanks Giggsy. Saw last night on the Swift tracking site that my parcel has already been sent from C.T to Joburg, so I should be getting my delivery any day now. No hassles with muz. either. Placed order, received confirmation, paid via eft and now its on its way. So far so good.
