Here is my entry for the comp (13th July). You can put me in the Advanced group (Have to give the advanced guitarists a run for their money..LOL) Recorded with a Fender USA strat, Marshall JCM2000 and some extra toys on the DAW. Nothing spectacular, but I did have a listen to in the car driving home, and almost hit a speed camera.. :D Drums was a loop I had lying around, bass was a loop I played around with. BPM is 119.98 for those interested. http://www.box.net/shared/5hmup67a09
Interesting how many people used sirens in their intros. I guess compared to yours mine is a go-slower-song, but I'm a narcissist so I voted for myself.
So here's my breakdown of what I thought. I liked the Blues. I thought Pete made good use of the drums. I also liked that it wasn't in too much of a hurry.

mattayou, yours I thought was fun and I liked the sirens and I thought you played with the tones nicely.

Lethe I liked it very much, good speed for the competition, and it gets your attention. I thought you could make the harmonies a bit more interesting. But I guess overcomplicating things isn't good either.

Neps I could see why you thought it was good. There are interesting possiblities.
I agree with the harmonies part. The melodies could be nicer, but I thought it would suit the theme more if it was straight forward mindless shred. So I tried that approach.

It worked
Viccy - your file is a 10 MB .wav file - people may not want to download that. I took the liberty of converting to a mp3 (1.4MB) and uploaded to box. net. OK?

Should I replace your link in the first post with the new one? Here's the new link - http://www.box.net/shared/d2jsdzmszv
thanks alan, that's much better!
