Took me a while to remember the Title of this Album
but I finally gave it a listen :
Well it makes for great listening, Out of the Sunshine , Musterion , Revelation being my favorite 3 tracks at this stage
Has anyone given this album a listen?
Squonk
Must give it a listen Andrew!
I have "Surfing with the Alien" but haven't ventured much further with Satch.
If you recomend it, I will give it a listen ?

I bought it at the local Look & Listen awhile ago. It's quite a good album, but I wouldn't say my favourite by Satch. It's quite experimental at times, the title track for instance has some fresh Funk overtones in the mix. You can't really go wrong with Satch though. I'd recommend it. But i'd also check out other JS albums before this one(Surfing with the Alien, The Extremist, Flying in a Blue Dream).

Late reply, I just stumbled across this thread. First off I'm not a Satch fan, he basically just plays extended solos over a looping backing track. (Ok not always but often.) He doesn't really write RIFFS which is what rock/metal is about, imhyco. Nor does he COMPOSE like Vai does. In fact I think he's more guilty of gratuitous noodling than the oft-reviled Mr. Malmsteen. I also don't like his actual playing style much. It's kinda legato-ish and kinda loose... I don't know it's just not my thing. I'd go as far as saying he's not really a shredder, which is probably a huge compliment and he's welcome to take it that way. (And I'm not saying anyone who's not a "shredder" is no good...oh gaaaad please let's not have that debate AGAIN.)
I do love his tone though and I like Satch the person, what I've seen of him anyway. So no hatred here, I listen to him occasionally but just don't like his music all that much. My favourite Satch moments are when he does feel-good high energy rock, my faves being on the Extremist album.
Having established those parameters, this album is a low point for me. It's Satch at his funkiest, most repetitive, most un-rocking, least riffiest.
Ok that was a long lead-in to a really short review. ?
