Elixirs are gross ?Shibbibilybob wrote: I find, especially with acoustic guitars, that brand like Martin, whose guitars dont have elixirs on them as stock, dont do themselves any favours.I set of nice strings goes a long way towards the comfort of the guitar.

Weren't Gallotones also made by Bellini in Pinetown?
Even if John Lennon build that himself I wouldn't pay R6000.... er sorry R8000!

If you're an Ibanez collector, sure R4500 or even better R4k is OK I guess....? :-\ but other than that...no !Armandearl wrote: http://johannesburg.gumtree.co.za/c-Sports-Leisure-musical-instruments-Ibanez-Telecaster-1971-Japan-W0QQAdIdZ457627090
The price must be a mistake according to our one previous Ibanez collecters item guitar. This Guitar must atleast be worth R45000.
:roflmao:
These guitars were dirt cheap imports and re-labelled here...not worth a R1K imho.....only has a bit of historical value I guess. The problem with the advertiser is that he believes older must be valuable.studmissile wrote: "Great Condition" "barely used"

Great necks, I did ask the guy if he was open to negotiations he said no, there were too many people interested , that was 2 weeks ago! I'd say R2500 max, even as a collector.

The worst part he is, That's R8000 neg! Step on up!NeilDP wrote: Jay Lenno? John Lennon? This guy can't be serious can he?
I love 'barely used', I had a Bellini that was in better condition, I regraded it more as an ornament, totally unplayable.
They are truly cr@p guitars in every sense if the word. I'm busy restoring my dad's old one for no other reason but huge sentimental value to me. All plywood construction, no bracing to speak of, but rather 2 plywood type "bulkheads". John Lennon (the brands only claim to fame) may have started out on one, but he would have changed it as soon as he could have or he would never have risen to the heights that he did. ?studmissile wrote:The worst part he is, That's R8000 neg! +1. I've seen a few dozen through the years and they are so badly made I always wondered howNeon Gecko wrote: They are truly cr@p guitars in every sense if the word.

Most are unplayable by modern standards.
[NB: post quoted has been deleted and I have removed the author info from the quote]I suggest we all troll the hell out of that person.
Please don't. Sure - the guy is deluded if he thinks the guitar is worth that much, but that's no reason to bully or torment him. Even if he is not a member here, I still think the "no cyberbullying" rule still applies if you are organising it here.
He'll realise by himself as he sits with it for months and gradually reduces the price down to nothing with no bites.

If he ever get to the point where he realises his prized guitar is worthless, he can always slap a new set of strings on and double it's value... ?Alan Ratcliffe wrote: He'll realise by himself as he sits with it for months and gradually reduces the price down to nothing with no bites.
