Pestilence - Hatred Within. I scored the Mind Reflections CD from Cash Crusaders for a whopping 10 ront. Also 3 Obituary CDs for an incredible 30 bucks. ?
Jealous!!! >☹
I cant get enough of 'Resurrection Macabre'.
BMU
Pestilence, ah the memories. One of the reasons Obscura is a modern must-have, same awesome bassist, Jeroen Thesseling. (And some guitar dudes who can play, oh, fairly well)

Yes - Going For The One
1977 Release with Rick Wakeman back in the fold.
Steve Howe does some amazing guitar work(possibly his best with Yes at least) on this album, Chris Squire has awesome tone , just listening to parallels, A Squire Composition, hectic bass playing and that tone, I suppose he would be using his favourite Rickenbacker Bass.
One of my favourite Yes albums, They had one good release after this "Tormato" before the "The Buggles" influenced "Drama" and then on to the Rabin era, which was my least favourite phase of the band.

Opeth - The Night and The Silent Water

Brad Paisley - American Saturday Night. First Jim Campilongo with The Little Willies, and now this.... I think I'm falling in love with country music... ?

I seem to be getting into quite a bit of chilled glitch/electronica lately, recently discovered this:
Been listening to this one track on repeat quite a bit, it's just one of those songs that really take you places ?
Also lots of E.S.T ?

Inz ze lasts month or sos I found some awesome bands comings out of ze Sweden...and no I'm not talking about Black Metal.
Witchcraft (Stoner) (previously known to me)
Truckfighters (Stoner... and we're talking Desert Palm Stoner ala Kyuss, people!) (new to me)
Graveyard (Blues rock/Stoner) (new to me)
Then from (not so sweden) San Diago this little 3 piece ear fluffer
Earthless (Instrumental psychedelic rock)
If you like the "just jamming" 20minute songs vibe as much as I. Then light it up sit back and enjoy this new gem....
G-Man
Tool - Opiate

Tinariwen Aman Iman: Water is Life
Finally managed to track down some Tinariwen and I'm enjoying this disc a lot.
The first thing that came to my mind actually was Seasick Steve. They're in a different genre (if you care about genre), sing in a different language and there's rather more of them, but they have those raw edges, that energy that makes Steve so great.
I love the drones that run through several of the songs and the marrying of North African rhythms to raw, energetic guitar that sometimes has me thinking of John Lee Hooker or Link Wray.
Excellent.
This is the opening track of this album

And now Amassakoul from Tinariwen.
I quite like the way the producers haven't tried to polish the music. It's still a little raw around the edges, which gives it it's vitality.
Quite an interesting group with an interesting story. Some of them have been around for years, starting to play in the 70s and making their first commercial recordings (on cassette) in the early 90s. Prior to that they put together a makeshift studio and would record for free for anybody who provided the tape.

Been listening to Buddhist Meditation music.
Amazing and unexpected impact.

In my Quest to replace all the MP3's I have illegaly acquired through the years with the real thing, I scour the 2nd hand CD shops and Cash Converters for bargains.
Hit it Big Today. Pink Floyd's "Animals" and "Obscurred by Clouds" in mint condition at R19.99 each, both Imports as well.
Just last week I managed to get Genesis "A trick of the Tail for R50.00, so my Progressive Rock Collection that I lost years ago is slowly being replenished.
Anyway, David Gilmour really rocks on Animals.
Obscurred by Clouds has some good stuff as well.

Recently gotten into a cool band called TesseracT, had originally given them a miss but now that I've finally taken the time out to listen to their album I've gotta admit I think it's awesome ?
They have this one track split up into 6 sections called concealing fate, it's major win ?
Here's the first track in a teaser format, they've since changed singers.
Here's the official video for the second track, with new singer ?
