The Ramones!
Jacky is a Punk,
Judy is a runt,
They both went down to 'Frisco joined the SLA,
And Oh I don't know why,
Oh I don't know why,
Perhaps they'll die, Oh yeah,
Perhaps they'll die, Oh yeah.

Richard Thompson - More Guitar!
Legend has it that right at the beginning of this live disc you can hear somebody shouting out "more guitar!" I've never heard it, but it would be redundant because there's no shortage of guitar dynamite here. Live recording from '88 with Thompson in spectacular and often harmonically adventurous form. Those labouring under the misapprehension that Thompson is some kind of folky should hear him cranking his Stratocaster up on this disc. The band is tight and potent and special mention must go to Christine Collister and Clive Gregson for their fab harmonies.
Before y'all rush off to Musica or wherever this is a "not for retail" album - available only at gigs or as an MP3 download from Thompson's web site.

Camel - Music Inspired by the Snow Goose
Some early 70's Progressive Rock without vocals. Their third concept album based on a novel by Paul Gallico "The Snow Goose".
There was a lot legal wrangling and Camel had to change the name of the album from Snow Goose to Music inspired by the Snow Goose.
IMHO - one of the most underated Bands of all time , Andy Latimer is an excellent guitarist and flautist, some of the solo's are quite spacey ala Gilmour!
Next I will be playing their second Album "Mirage" which has some Lord of the Rings inspired songs.

I recall seeing a for South Africa vinyl pressing of Stones' Their Satanic Majesties Request with a different title... I think it was just called The Rolling Stones? Interesting but understandable given the satanophobia of the NP era.

Buffalo Springfield. Maybe it's the fact that my lady's been away for more than three weeks, but the song Kind Woman is really tripping me out at the moment. ? I think it's sung by the other one whose name no one remembers - who wasn't Stills, Young, or Messina.

I mentioned in another thread about working for the public broadcaster, and I used to visit the Record Library quite often. That album did have another title and lots of notes written next to the songs, "Do not play", 'Unsuitable" etc

Well I got a parcel of goodies from Amazon today (I had to pay...). I am not wasting time, and currently I am listening to Bruce Cockburn's "Slice o' Life". I don't know a lot about Cockburn, and haven't liked the production on most of his studio albums so this live disc is quite interesting for me. He concentrates on the songs more and the guitar flash less - and his voice has deepened and got more expressive with age.

Next up is "Juju Music" from
King Sunny Adé and his African Beats.
Great grooves. Clapton may have been "God" but in Nigeria King Sunny is "The Minister of Enjoyment".
