Hi All

Is there an interest from the forum members for me to start PA / Sound Systems basic lessons / information on this board? (with the appropriate moderators permissions of course)

If so, what kind of information would you find the most useful / like to see?

This could also bring up some nice debates as well.
    Hi Tom,

I know jack about Pa systems, so in my opinion: Why not?
Hope to read some intresting stuff form you soon.
      @ Tom

I would love this. You can explain balanced and unbalanced, where to put the DI box, how to mix the vocals etc.

      You are the man 8)
        Great idea, Tom.

Maybe start with a 101 - it would be cool to build up a resource. Not everyone has the same level of experience.

Personally, I'd be interested in live mixing tips, monitoring options, basic pros and cons between speakons vs jacks, etc, positioning of components, etc.

Come to think of it, Alan has an excellent 101 on his site (which I've referred back to to dozens of times). With his permission [well, its in the public domain ? ] we could maybe use that as a starting point, and have your series zoom in on different aspects. Particularly with examples, more info and even anecdotes!!

        That's my 5 cents!
          would be awesome! bring it!
You have my blessing... PM me when you post and I'll sticky them for you.
Thanks all for the positive response.

I was also thinking of a basic PA-101 type of thing as a starting point.

Bob, I like your idea of "PA for Dummies".....

I also want to keep things in the perspective of a performing artist on stage/band/club/ etc and not get too technical or long winded....

@ Alan. Thanks for the blessing. I will also look at what you have posted as suggested by Riaan and possibly take it from there.

Give me a few days to chew on a staring point and will post something soon.

              Cheers
Good idea Tom, I'm also in
