tonight i did warm up set for Gian Groen band (afrikaans rock band) at Steak & Ale in centurion and the guitarist was hennie Joubert ..apparantly a konsertina player with 3 SAMAs behind his name..... but hey this boy was world class... on guitar played a strat and a pedal board that was as big as a bass case, packed with top quality brand name pedals and some tube amp, a big one hehheheh but he had the most amazing touch and his tone was excellent.... and awesome solo's so much so the audience applauded in middle of song after them... first time i'm seeing him, and i was suitably impressed....as i said world class....and yes the sound guy told me he's a session player too....
the music was cool but the guitar made it.....
great tone , hope to see more of his gigs.....
