would like some help,i want to buy a new guitar-like the ibanez guitars,i want a more shred friendly guitar than my lp custom.any suggestions?price range round R8000
    RGA lol

I also saw an RG1570 on Gumtree the other day (if you are looking for a floyd style bridge) it was going for R7000 i think. there are also some awesome Jacksons in the Plumstead bothners store. They've been there a while so you might be able to talk them down to 8k. The flamed Soloist is a shred machine for sure.
hehe-ya played on ibanez and it really makes a dif for me,first hav to sell my other guit and then i can get one.oh cant wait!

If you want a LP-type electric that's more shreddable, why don't you have a look at the ESP Eclipse (EC1000) range? Very nice intruments and right in the tone zone. Ibanez's ARC/ARX/ART500s also fit the bill (but I must admit I find the ARX500 a bit headstock heavy). There's also the Dean Solterro, PRS SE (single cut) and the Scheckter S1? The Music Man Axis / Axis Super Sport are lovely to play - and Eddie Van Halen inspired. Washburn also have the Paul Stanley and Idol models. Cort have the ZMP-1 & MMP-3.

Huge choices, but my first stop would be ESP.
If you can find a jackson soloist for R8000.. That's the best guitar you'll find for shredding imo.. Ibanez's are okay, but they just don't touch the jackson!
