A little while ago a talked about my guitar that I inherited from my grandfather. He got for his 16th Birthday, and brought it over when he immegrated from Holland.

Just got it back from Andy Mcgibbon, he replaced one of the tuning knobs. (hand made one so that it looks like the others).

Still plays very well. Intonation close to perfect
Nice! I love the back of the guitar... ?
Looks brilliant and also good that it still plays well.
have you done research on the Luthier?

You also have 2 sets of tiles in your kitchen ?

Haha, Good obeservation Squonk. It was a misunderstanding when they build the place >☹. Having it sorted out on Wednesday, was lucky to find the same tile again!!

Havent done research yet, I keep forgetting to take down the serial number and google it. Will let you know soon.
I'm intrigued by the back - looks one piece as there is no book matching. If it was veneer then they'd surely try to make it look bookmatched.
thats a stunning guitar , and it's age intrigues me ...... really nice
Lovely guitar! I'm curious to hear it's sound, hope you can post a clip or two!

And your elbow is never gonna get better if.... :roflmao: Sorry, couldn't resist that one...
Okay okay, i get it. :'(

I'll just blame it on a serious case of GAS. Would rather spend the moeny on gear than tiles ?
Wow, that is one amazing looking guitar, would love to play that baby!!!

Yeah, I did a bit of reading about the guitar, it was definately made in Italy. I think it was during the french revolution.
Stefano Caponetto was a luthier building guitars in Catania, Sicily in 1930. Not a huge amount of info about him, but from the Henley Dictionary of Violin and Bow Makers:
                        Caponnetto, Stefano
                        Worked at Catania (Sicily), 1930.
                        Bowed and plucked instruments. Commercial.
Catania was a large area of instrument-making activity in Italy in the late 19th century and early 20th century.
