I'm a 20yr old guitarist living in hatfield
I'm into metal, blue's, little casical, and little flamenco.
The reason i've joined here is i'm stuck at a certain lvl of playing. I think my problem is i'm learning to play song with my eyes and not with my ears. I learn tabs realy easy and i can tab some slower and more simple songs on my own. I've passed my friends as far as speed goes but i feel i'm not going forward.
If there is anybody that knows what i'm doing wrong or has similar prob, plz share. Any critisism is accepted. No matter how harsh it may be. Alot of ppl lable me a poser but i realy love the instrament and realy wana learn to play it properly. Mabey even move on to a violin someday aswell.
Thx

Welcome aboard man, you've come to the right place!
I'm still struggling with this here stringed piece of wood as well, the only advice I can give you is a) try to feel the music instead of reading it, and b) get yourself a guitar teacher, they help you create goals and sort of force you to reach them.
I have only been for two lessons and they helped a lot, my schedule is just so out of whack at the moment that I can't really commit to anything, but if you can, get a teacher, it will help lots.
And yes have a browse through the Lessons section, you are sure to find some gems there!

Welcome Wolfeyed..
I had the same problem.. then I started listening and playing music that really inspired me instead of something that just sounds cool.
However, I think, as a musician, you will always have the feeling that you're not good enough (according to your own standards), because there's always something that you don't know and can still improve on. When you reach the point where you think you have arrived, then you start stagnating.
That's just my humble opinion .. .. ..

Hey Wolfeyed welcome...wish I could say the same about tabs, I rely almost exclusively on my ears which is also not good. But yes the forum is great in that respect. And highly entertaining also!
