I made a silly mistake. I have a stock 2005 Strat Squire. It is high time I did some work on it so I ordered a bunch of hardware replacements as well as a new HSS pickguard and a Seymore Duncan Invader Neck (SH8B) pickup. Do you see the error in my way? So I bought a neck pickup for the bridge position -_-.
Now, the Invaders are known for being HOT. I think this will save me as Neck pickups are known to be lower output. Have I just wasted a bunch of money? Also, the product's write-up on the online store I bought it from says it's the SH8B, but on the product label, it mentions it's the neck variant. Shouldn't that make it the SH8N? Not really sure there is anything I can do here but I will let you know how it sounds!

Markus As long as the string spacing works, a neck pup will work in the bridge. I've used a lot of tonerider generator neck pup's in the bridge position. The bridge version is around 16.5k output and the neck around 8.8k. I thought the neck sounded great in the bridge position.

You can dbl check which pup you got by using a multimeter to get the output.

V8 Thanks man! Let's try it out and see how it sounds. I will be sure to report back here for future readers in this position.
