Hey guy’s I’m new so please forgive me for kind of annoying mistakes.... promise I’m not trying too.. Anyway, I’m wondering what the brand Takimine like? it is acoustic with what I believe is the electric I.e..volume, & other button changes on the side to change as playing. Apologise again I’m only trying to find a good guitar to learn on. Cheers Jodes
Brand of guitar
Jodes yeh man. Takamine is a good brand. Which model? Like anything.. they have cheaper models, middle of the range and really high end models. But with big brands like this. The cheaper models are generally well made too. Takamine, Yamaha, Cort etc.. cant really go wrong
Hi guys
I hope this isn't too specific for this group. Can anyone help me to understand the Ibanez Artcore model names? for example, I'm looking at buying a AGS-75-B from someone. But I would like to understand that model name better.
What do the A, G, S mean? What does the 75 mean versus eg. 53 or 93? And why are there so few hits on this model number? There a AS75's a plenty. Same for AS83's. I find hits for AGS73's But very little info on AGS75s. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Hey bud.
So AGS75B in my understanding means the following
A = Series.. so Artcore
G = type of body. So G i think is thinner with a sharper horn on the cutaway. An F as an example is a Full body with a rounder horn.
If there is a T or a S in the name after the first 2 letters.. it denotes bridge style. T = trem, S i think refers to a stoptail.
75 = style of body
B = colour.
Sooo.. that code should be an Artcore hollow body with a thinner body and sharp point on the cutaway. Single cutaway guitar with a stoptail tailpiece.. and brown in colour?

To the below I'll add - as a educated guess the last one or two letters (FM, BS, G, B ) is the code for finish options - FM = Flame Maple top, B = Black, G=Colour, BS = Sunburst
Golly, there are a lot of options in the range - never knew the were so serious about the artcore range.
lleukes Found this on ultimate guitar
No, they're mostly hollowbodied/semi-hollowbodied, thus the "art" part, as the full hollowsbodies have a sculpted face.
Basically, if it has a T in the model name, it has a tremolo/vibrato bar. If not, like an AF75, mine, it's just a nice guitar with a standard tailpiece.
The names, I don't think, have a big difference in what you find or have, but this is what I know:
A=Artcore
F=Full Hollow
S=Semi-Hollow (I Think)
T=Tremolo-equipped
DG=Dream Guitar (it looks like a White Falcon, which was made to be a "dream guitar")As for the numbers, they denote the body shape. The 75 is a big, single cutaway that it's mostly for jazz, etc., as you can't easily get to the highest frets.
and this from reddit:
guidothepimmp Thanks very much for that. That explanation most hits home, yeah. It IS a slim tub, hollow body guitar (AG, check); stoptail (S, check); and it's a single cutout body (75, check).
Although, it doesn't have a sharp horn. From pictures, I think the horn goes from roundest to sharpest in this order: F > S > J, J being a sharp horn. And the colour is a matte red finish. But that really helps. Thanks again ?
lleukes yeh thats it then. The sharper horn thing is prob my error. Was stretching the old memory bank. The number designation might then dictate the shape of the horn along woth the greater body shape
