Garage Days 8 - From Another Dimension
So that Em9/F# comes about because the clean guitar plays it's open chords with the DGBe strings unfretted while the bass line moves so you end up with

.... which is a bit of a mess.
The bass st that point is playing the F# and the distorted guitar an F# power chord.
The D chord would work against the bass line but not against the open chords.
slowpoet whilst it is true that c, g and d are played.. only certain notes are played.
Example.. on the c chord, only the notes on the a and d strings are held down. The b string is not held. Similarly. The g chord. Only the e and a strings are fretted. The others ring open.
guidothepimmp ooops.. Bevan has answered it
I don’t have the knowledge to comment, which is why I asked. The E5 does sound better to an extent.
So just a heads up, I've completely reworked the chords for When We're High. I'm not sure where I got the last set from but they were completely wrong (sorry about that :/) so I've transcribed them from scratch. Please double check and let me know if you find any mistakes.
I've also made minor updates to Black and Creep, but these are a lot more minor. I still have a few new songs to check out but I've run out of time and my poor, out of practice, sissy fingers are begging me to stop.
For House of the RS I want to try a straight 6/8 rhythm without trying to copy the Animals pattern (which is way beyond me) If it's too fast I'll do the same as last time and hit 2 beats per bar and let them ring.
I'm really excited actually, I'm still coming, without Terence lol he and his lovely lady got a holiday as a gift
Two weeks to the jam, hows everyone's prep going?
Yeti prep?
Oh boy. Suppose i should start?
Yeti I've got the solo for Talk Dirty to Me down. Still have to work on the rest, suspect I'm gonna be the camera man for a couple ?
Just confirmed with Greg and Nick so we have a venue and a drummer.
Sounds like we have a fair complement of singers, bass players, rhythm and lead guitarists too so it should be a good jam.

Excellent news.
In case someone else is looking for stuff to pick up, here are the bits that I think I'll get to before the 12th:
Crazy Little Thing Called Love – Queen
Plush – Stone Temple Pilot
Give Me One Raisin – Tracy Chapman
Slow Cheetah – RHCP
Just Got Paid – ZZ Top/Joe Bonamassa (Don't have the solo for this down)
Talk Dirty to Me – Poison
Whiskey in the Jar - Metallica
Zombie - Cranberries
I probably won't get to these:
House of the Rising Sun – Animals
Black – Pearl Jam
Africa – Toto
Creep – Radio Head
Last Nite – The Strokes
When We're High – LP
I hope one of the other guitarists pick these up, otherwise let me know if we're gonna be desperately short on a song and I'll put in some extra effort.

I'm aiming to be able to play enough rhythm guitar for each song that I can keep it going if no one else has learnt it... but this means that I don't know much of it 'properly'... the exceptions here are plush and just got paid but you and Claudio both have these covered.
That said, I have specifically looked at
House of the Rising Sun, Africa and When We're High and can muddle through Black, Creep and Last Nite.
Confirming I won't make it on Saturday. I'm helping direct a kids show (imagine 40 screaming children)
