Thanks to @Stoffeltoo for this month's Challenge topic..."Anthem"

And before we get into it - a big thank you to @Stoffeltoo, @RodneyVikens for agreeing to roll over last month's R100 Raru voucher (Sponsored by @studmissile!)

Enter an anthem to your preferred playing style. So yes, open to four main genre groups, Folk/classical, rock/blues, Country/pop, Jazz

Rule is to share blurb on origin and why you see it as your anthem as music is a very emotive art form and song or song structure has its origins somewhere in the creator's psyche.

So I guess anything goes. And hopefully after approval, have fun with your individualised original interpretation of an anthem.

? Entries Close: Sunday, 29th September, 23:59PM

?Rules: Only one rule, no more than four (4) minutes in length. The genre's mentioned are a guideline, if you reallllly want to do metal anthem, go for it!!

⁉How To Enter: Record your entry, sign up or log in to SoundCloud, post it there. Then grab the SoundCloud link and reply here with the link pasted in your reply.

?Prizes: The fame and glory of winning a GuitarTalk Challenge. And the ever increasingly dubious distinction of selecting the next challenge topic.

Anyone can enter this competition. You just need a guitar and a phone. But any other recording equipment is fine too. Collaborations with fellow members or anyone you can recruit is encouraged!

Question, Do we pick a song/anthem to cover, do we write an anthem or is it anything goes?

RCVN do we write an anthem or is it anything goes?

Tis' a chance to write your personal anthem, let's aim at originals this month - which could be inspired by a cover? Genre wise, I've interpreted it as pretty much anything goes.

I might have some cheese for this wine ?.

The collabs are going to be cool i think.. cool challenge

I like that I can compose something.....hmmmm hopefully I get it done in time lol

V8 share blurb on origin and why you see it as your anthem

Please just clarify this part for me. What do you mean by "blurp on origin" ?

Must we just write and record an anthem ? For example "We Will Rock You" as a Rock Anthem.

RodneyVikens What do you mean by "blurp on origin"

Ahh, @Stoffeltoo had a little typo there - I'm fairly sure he meant "Blurb on origin" - that is, what inspired you to pick that style/genre as your personal anthem. It's optional, though it's fun to write a little background to the tune - we get to know each other a bit better through the challenge process?

Pretty much! Just to clarify, though I'm sure you understand it already - we're encouraging original compositions this month.

Hey guys. I've been very absent on the forum. Work sucks and will continue to do so forever. Meh.

This challenge has got my attention alright and I am very intrigued, but to clarify...

V8 what inspired you to pick that style/genre as your personal anthem.

So the anthem should be related to a style?

        OR...

V8 Tis' a chance to write your personal anthem,

My anthem. As in, how I feel 'bout music?

I have an Afrikaans song that I have been aching to get done properly. This may just be the kick in the "insert body part here" that i need.

I mean I am pretty sure we can literally go with anything right? Just wanted to make sure of the rules.

Now where the heck is that pick...

wern101 My anthem. As in, how I feel 'bout music?

EXACTLY! I reckon you've hit the proverbial nail on the proverbial head - two thumbups ?

Pretty much! Whatever gets ya to press that infernal blinking red record button (and makes us fret ?)

Cool. This one is gonna be fun. Now just to find time.

Picking a genre will be interesting as I mostly like, rock, blues, acoustic, jazz, metal, classic .... Mmmm....

        Can I go with RBAJMC?

Aha - though google couldn't give me even a sniff of a clue on RBAJMC ?

Yip - any genre that makes you wanna Anthem. There I made a verb. Probably shouldn't but I did anyways.
