wern101 A brick wall has been hit...by me... in case that wasn't obvious.
Creative juices at an all time low.
Glad I'm not the only one. Maybe I'll try to add a couple of beers to the mix on the weekend.

I've got a rough outline for a 4 chord song going (figured I'd start simple). Hoping to have some time to flesh it out over the weekend.
Hey guys, are we aloud to include other instruments ?
I’m new to this kind of music communication and I think its a good way to get some inspiration and have fun doing it.
?Rules: Create a entry, using at least one track of acoustic guitar. Any & all instruments welcome, but the focus is acoustic guitar and I'll be suggesting that people vote accordingly (E.g. Who really showcased an acoustic guitar in their track). Use your phone, or get multitracking. No time limits or track limits. We may even tolerate creative covers...? Go crazzzyyy!
https://community.guitartalk.co.za/d/26884-the-acoustic-challenge-anything-goes - is the first post of this thread.
Thanks V8, now I can carry on with my project.
Oh I forgot to add, are we allowed to have fx on the acoustic or should it be clean acoustic ?
MULTIFANFIX No worries. FX away to your hearts delight ?
As long as there is a track of acoustic, anything goes (vocals included).
Kinda productive weekend - especially considering how little playing I did!
Think I found a guitar to play my tune on - a surprisingly good yamaha G-225 at gear junkie. hopefully it doesn't sell before next weekend...(so I can borrow it for the weekend).
Composition is coming on, though I can already see getting one clean take is gonna be a real patience tester - likely i'll live with a good few boo-boo's.
How's y'all's coming along?
I think my composition and lyric writing is just about done (turns out rhyming is hard... who knew? ?) and I've got bits of it recorded... now to get a clean run of the rhythm part and vocals.
Still nothing composing this side. If I can't come up with anything interesting in the next day or two I am just going to perform a classical piece I've been working on.
I’ve got a good intro for my track, trying to keep it simple.
Its a small piece I’ve composed and playing it for a few years,
I never did anything with it until now and its turning out great.
In the end something simple can grow into a masterpiece.
V8 At this rate, I believe you may just have to 'eat' one or other of those sets of words. I have a rhythm bit going and a melody, BUT that's it. Putting the whole bang shoot together and having other noodly parts that bring it all together and make it listenable, there's me problem.
Thinking of just using n-Track on the old iPhone and seeing what happens.
Good luck to all y'all!
domhatch At this rate, I believe you may just have to 'eat' one or other of those sets of words.
I'm skinny enough, I'll chomp both with a side order of dom's entry... ?
Mine will be a single track on a cell phone (hopefully single take too...but we'll see how that transpires). Also looks like I'll be using a different guitar than planned - is all good though, the composition is coming together (or changes daily)
I tried to record some strumming last night... turns out I am not mr metronome hand. ?
I think I'm done with mine... Two tracks, two acoustic guitars (one nylon, and one steel string). I am, however scared to submit already - just in case I want to make last-minute changes. Let's hope it doesn't get to that.
My entry:
Trashed my original idea cause i just cant get it sounding the way it sounds in my head. I have not put nearly enough practice time into this.
Started with a new idea yesterday but soon as i start recording, the wheels come off. Why is that??
Ooooii.

Once that red light starts a' flashing...T'is a bonus of the challenges, it's great 'pressure' to test your skills.
More forgiving than a live crowd (though the audience in our collective heads is another story)
I dig the reminder when you see your mates/heroes just consistently play amazing - just how much work that took.
Hey Wern 101, that happens to me a lot and I’ve noticed that when I spend too much time trying too hard to get what I want recording the idea I have in my head I get nothing that fits, taking some time off from recording and the idea all together and doing something else for a while helps me to refresh my brain and give it another go at it later.
I’m also stuck with my track, the problem I have is recording my acoustic guitar with the condenser mic. Its so sensitive to sounds around me, picking up birds, dogs and voices. I must wait until its quiet enough to do it and
if I’m lucky I will enter my track or a piece of it late tonight.
Good luck to all.
Click your heels and take a journey down the yellow brick road.
My solo (Chord/Melody) arrangement of Over The Rainbow on 7 string acoustic. A rush recording this morning, so warts and all.
