- Edited
I think we should do these songs. I chose some from each person who made suggestions. We can do the remainder next time.
Wicked Game - Stone Sour
Basket Case - Green Day
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
Shook me all night long - AC/DC
12 bar blues (perhaps in E for variety)
If this is OK with most, then I'll edit the notice to put on FB and newsletter etc.
Thumbs up!
Cool
Is this venue also in Pretoria? I'm guessing by the name that it is...
warrenpridgeon It's in Silverton
Sweet... I'd really like to join on one of these jams sometime... Life is just nuts right now :/
Those look good.
I think this time we should try to find a drummer if we can. That will add quite a lot to the day.
Guitar Talk is putting together a 3 hour garage play together session on 22 September in Silverton. It will run from noon to 3PM.
How it works is: everyone practices the songs listed and then we get together and practise and play them. We will also try a few others on the fly, so to speak.
The songs to practice are
Wicked Game - Stone Sour
Basket Case - Green Day
Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
Shook me all night long - AC/DC
For jamming goodness: 12 bar blues (in E), perhaps with this pattern: E,A,E,E, A,A,E,E, B7,E,A,A
NOTE: We'd love to see some non-guitar instruments, especially bass or drums. But almost anything could contribute - perhaps not bagpipes, though. :-)
We will provide lyrics sheets and chords as well as the address details when you RSVP. We are asking for R20 donation per person to go towards the cost of the venue (pay on the day)
NOTE: At the venue there is
1 2x10 bass amp
2 4x12 guitar cabs (no heads)
PA system with 2 mics
Drumkit (bring own cymbals)
Stands
There are no chairs, so please bring a camping stool or similar if you wish to sit down.
Beginners and vocalists VERY, VERY welcome.
RSVP with Adrian (slowpoet) on adrianvan@mac.com
The space only allows for 7 people at a time (if 1 is a drummer and 1 is a vocalist and no-one has personal space issues), so please don't RSVP if you're not sure you can make it.
We have a drummer who is very keen, though we should organise a cymbal or two as he doesn't currently have. Anyone able to bring something?
I have a rubbish cymbal i can bring. When i say rubbish.. its shart. Like playing ride on your bonnet. But im happu to bring it. Put me down as rsvp.. or do i have to email?
I think the thing drummer needs the most is a hi-hat rather than ride or crash cymbals
