Hasie I hate you, but in a good way.

I know exactly how you feel! ?

Funny thing, I'm looking around for a pointy shreddy guitar
- shorter scale (24.75)
- flatter radius (12-16)
- comfy shape

ESP is the one brand that does all of that...

V8 Wanted one for like 4 years now, so life goal achieved hehe

Lu22 Yeah I recall you digging the Vampyre - nice one!

If you plan on using the strap locks (mighty mite), do use a drop of loctite on the threads when you attach them to a strap - they did come loose once or twice. And it's all about the bridge pup - all the recordings/gigs were done using the bridge pup exclusively. Such a great neck to play - super fast.

Was completely re-wired by Theron Electronics Works and then re-strung & setup with them red label's before heading to GJ - strings should have another 3-4 mths play in them, they're hardly been played.

If you do go BEAD, it's a absolute monster in that tuning - it plays better in BEAD than EADG!

P.s. I couldn't find the truss rod cover - if I do at some stage, I'll let you know.

V8 Awesome! Glad that it's your old one, cos I know its in good nick. Will have to research BEAD tuning.
Thanks for the advice. Hopefully it gets here monday/tuesday. Itching to test it out

The body is a slightly beatup (how I got it - paint missing on bottom horns), but the rest of it is as new. That neck and bridge pup is worth the price alone - killer!

          Enjoy!

V8 Eh those are just battle scars. And I definitely will!

Looks like GJ found one, cos it has one now.

Loving the Vamp. My biggest issue is the fact that I haven't played bass in ages so my fingers are suffering, otherwise the thing is a beast!

Lu22 Yeah, they did find one - but not the original I did have...somewhere. It just irritates me that I misplaced it...!

Glad you be digging it, I was impressed with that just-a-nut nut thing - love the ease of adjustment. If/when you go to BEAD tuning, it's a breeze to get it setup. (buy a 5string set when you want to restring the other bass and use the low B on the Vamp - shift the rest of the strings down one and viola!).

A low B...it is a thing - the no1. thing I miss from the band is laying into that string with a loud amp, very calming...bwhaha!

And do throw loads of gain at that bridge pup - it is a humbucker ?

              • Lu22 replied to this.

Lu22 I use one strap between my guitars and the Mighty Mite locks aren't compatible with the Schallers on my Ibby

Hmm, not sure if they are compatible with anything - I'd rather get another set of schallers than mighty mite though. Mighty mite were/are Cort's part's brand (iirc) - everywhere stocked them (distributed by bothners) but now I don't see much around. I'll have a look at GJ tomorrow and ask Graham.

V8 Much appreciated. Otherwise I can keep the Schallers, swap the buttons on my basses and sell the Mighty Mites with my old bass

Lu22 Hmm, I did have a google and Might Mite seems only to do neck, bodies, pickguards and pickups now. So if we do find anything else, it'll be N.O,.S.

No idea who'll be making those ''discontinued' parts now - sure, someone is - just who?

I'd just go for another set of schallers (or copies thereof. Saw this - 5 sets for around 24USD...delivered

I'll still have a dig around GJ tomorrow.

                    • Lu22 replied to this.

V8 Thanks. I have like 3 sets of schaller/compatibles between my collection, so Ill just swap out then

                      • V8 replied to this.

Lu22 Had at look at GJ - no strap locks of any description! Come to think of it, the last time I saw any mighty mite branded parts was at a bothners clearing out sale twos years ago...
