My mate has the Ibanez short-scale version of the acrylic bass - there were more than a few 70's copies of the Ampeg design. It's lovely to look at, plays well and sounds pretty good too - but it's HEAVY. And I'd be really scared to drop it, you might damage planet earth ?
However...I'd be tempted to gig this chinese knock off...once, for a xmas gig.
