It's been 10 years since I first launched GuitarForum.co.za.

The official birthday is the 15th of October. But why wait till then for awesomeness?

Here it is! A new forum to celebrate a new era.

There are some known issues which are listed below.

Known Bugs:

  • No PMs. Yep it's a travesty. For now, you'll need to post your email in Classifieds threads. Do it like this to avoid spam bots stealing your email: norio <at> example <dot> com

  • No signatures. This one won't ever be fixed. Signatures distract from discussion. But! Not all is lost. Click on your profile and you'll see your old sig there. You're welcome to link to your own website there, and also put up your "good deals" and stuff you're "GASsing" for there.

  • Uploads suck. You can attach pics to posts but there's no indication that the upload is happening. So once you choose a file to upload, just wait a bit and your pic should show up.

  • Search is kinda empty. We're waiting for Google to catch up with the changes we've made here. Give it a week or two after the launch and search should be waaay better.

  • Probably more to come ?

Bear with me, I think the new software is TOTALLY worth these minor issues.

Yeah it's way prettier. There are some issues I'm unhappy with but I'll keep chipping away at those until they're sorted.

(Like on mobile, there's too many ads above-the-fold coz the left sidebar ad goes above the discussions. Some mobile-friendly CSS should fix that.)

      Looks good! This forum software is showing up everywhere now and i really like it, formats much better on mobile and looks really clean on desktop. Thanks!

        The password thing, I thought, was critical. It's such a pain in the butt to have to reset your password that I didn't wanna scare anyone away by being lazy.

          Small bug on the new sharing bar. Sometimes it is on the left of the screen on my phone and co
          vers some content.

          Hasie I'm using the tools from Sumo me so I can't fix that but you could try turning your device as a temporary fix.

            Almost got a fright when I clicked on the bookmark this morning, thought it had somehow changed. Superb Norio! Well done. Nice and clean, modern and seems to be very user friendly! Congrats.

            This new look is GREAT. Good work to all that made it happened.
            There is only one function that I miss. In the previous one it was very easy to select only postings that was not read yet. I do not see it on this one.

            By default, on the front page, unread topics will be at the top and in bold. So you just need to visit the front page to make sure you didn't miss anything.
