I have been reading comments and posts on the website for years but have never participated in any of the discussions. Have been playing guitar for more than 40 years (or trying at least). Built a few guitars, amps. etc. Sometimes I think I'm more interested what guitars and amps sound like than actually playing, I presume this is 'normal' for musicians. Variety is the spice of life.

Uhumm! I know the feeling and unless you realise early in your playing what tone you want it is a hit and miss thing. It is also dependant on style and which band you want to emulate.
Plenty guitars, a range of multi FX and a scrobble of amps. I think i have my tone.

Perfectly normal, I go through stages of playing and tinkering - though I suspect I'm more of a player than a tinkererer :? Though I do learn more about what I want when I go through a tinkering phase.
