Casimi Guitars - this would be the one

I participate on an acoustic guitar forum and came across this company. These luthiers are based in Cape Town and handcraft some of the most exquisite and amazing guitars.

If only I could afford to purchase one of these masterpieces, as they retail in the UK for an eye-watering starting price of £7600-00. - see contacts page.

Outstanding Cape Town luthiers - I've played one of their parlour nylon stringers, it was so good, I wish I had bought it.

They arn't that pricey locally (just spotted this : http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-musical-instruments/goodwood/custom-built-classical-parlour-guitar/1001733276680910111306709) - at least for the high level craftmanship and detailed builds.

I'm lucky enough to have built a guitar with Casimi on the luthery course they offer.

Mine is based on their C2 (I call it a C2ish), which they no longer allow you to do. They make stunning guitars, and the one I built with them is certainly no exception.

As for that classical on Gumtree, someone snap it up.

Colin is also a very talented luthier, who used to work with Matthias and Matthew in the Maingard days. R11500 is a great price on one of his instruments.

Was yours a steel string or nylon?

Just saw this topic now after not being on this forum for quite a while. Ive got a Marc Maingard Flamenco guitar that for the past month ive encountered sound issues at concerts and gigs ive been playing at. Matthiaz literally just picked up my guitar an hour ago as we were struggling to sort out an under saddle piezo pickup issue, finally found the fishman piezo element this morning and he will be doing the installation. These people know their stuff and his service is absolutely unparalleled. he done quite a few things on my guitar that he didn't charge me for and his work is stunning. ive played his personal flamenco guitar and its really a beauty with a great flamenco sound. you cant go wrong with Casimi guitars and personally ill only have either Mathiaz or Marc touch my guitar

His Flamenco Blanca is phenomenal. Wonderful guitar.
