Prolificbuyer
G'day. Proverbial handshake and intro from yours truly
I used to play several instruments in my teens, the whole family jammed together. But I was the lazy (unaccomplished) one that didn't bother with it after leaving home. Fast-forward 35 or so years later and I decided it was time. So I bought a guitar to start learning again.
I now currently have eleven guitars.
5 electric, 3 steel string acoustic, a 12-string (circa 1960's), and 2 classical.
I enjoy guitars where other people don't see the value, tweak-ability, playability, coolness, whatever. And I have a fondness for Corts because nobody wants to buy them second hand because they have an untrendy name on the headstock but I think a lot of them are fantastic. Uncool is cool
Funny enough my two cheapest guitars are actually my favourite daily-drivers. A beaten up Cort G110 that I bought in pieces for R210 fiddled with a bit and strung with 11's (I don't know why- it's just the one I tend to pick up and play daily), and an Aria AW100 acoustic bought for R350 which plays nicer (to my ears and after doing the frets) than my really expensive solid tops.
When in SA I'm on Gumtree daily looking for interesting or unusual bargains for cheap.
And my reason for being here? I've gone off internet forums in recent years but I stumbled on this site while trying to find info on a bridge replacement (or saddle used-parts availability) for a Cort KX5 that I’m fixing. While cleaning corrosion off the bridge of a newly acquired second-hand KX5 I discovered the saddle inserts were crumbling. Literally falling apart like paste. So I'll be scouting for info in that department and any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks for having me. I'll behave myself.
Obrigado.
