Hey! I'm looking for musicians somewhere between 21-27 years of age. So basically close to mid 20s.
So I want to put together a cool (and when I say cool I mean it in the way that cats said it back in the day, when it had weight to it) soul band of sorts.
Something that takes elements of soul, jazz (including gypsy and swing vibes from time to time), blues, Latin, funk, dirty blues rock, that James Bondy-esque sounding stuff, and even a bit o' pop and, whether I like it or not because my roots are grounded in it, heavy metal.
At least metal in the sense that riffs may get aggressive and technical from time to time.
So think Indie Rockin' Soul... Or whatever noun might describe whats in my head.
I'd love to put together an set that one can listen to beginning to end and absolutely dig.
Above all I want GROOVE, CREATIVITY & STYLE.
I'm currently looking for a...
Vocalist:
-Preferably female.
-Soulful.
-Non-generic Kyknet vocalist (no offense to any generic Kyknet vocalists on the board)
-Creative with melody. Not just straight poppy, repetitive kind of stuff.
-Able to accept that I sing a bit too and tend to write vocals and melody as well.
-Willing to pack up and tour (knowing in advance of course) if need be. I want to go as far as possible with this.
I'm also looking for the rest of the band but the vocalist is top priority at the moment.
I don't know any music theory so it would be rad if someone else had that, lol.
I enjoy Matt Corby, Gary Clark Jr, Hozier, Lenny Kravitz, Sia, all kinds of stuff and a bunch of metal so there will definitely be some slight metal influence in there, but the overall goal is groove, soul and an ability to get people feelin' it and moving to it.
