  • A great new original design from Ernie Ball

Shape is interesting, colour is cool, it looks good on Annie, and it's awesome to see a signature model that isn't just a minor variation on one of their normal models (coughFendercough)

Just like my home made bass.

This thing looks like a cheerleader uniform. Sorry but I prefer my pointy guitars.

To me it's something like a Firebird with Fender stylings. It's got a touch of the Italian '60s guitars about it, but remains elegant. And the trem and the pickups add a modern touch.

        But no cigar
The EB headstock looks a bit awkward on this guitar- it's curvy, and the guitar is angular, but I'm not sure what would be better- headstocks are tricky

I don't like the dano pro.
I do however like this St Vincent guitar. Looks and sounds great. I shudder for the ZA price though. Even just doing the R/$ conversion is scary enough.
I'm feelin' it. I really dig this guitar, especially in that blue.
this is purely opinon but ..........wow thats truly the ugliest guitar i ever seen ...oh no maybe it isnt look at the ernie ball musicman they made for albert lee signature ........ http://www.music-man.com/instruments/guitars/albert-lee and it even looks similar to St.vincent

NO question ernie ball musicman guitars and basses are superbly built and fabulous sounding ..the steve morse music man i obsessed over many years ago....and i love their basses...........but wow whoever is in their body design dept at moment must love bo diddley ...and all things very angular ........

beautiful instruments but really some of the body shapes..........
Annie Clarke designed it herself. Ernie ball just built it for her.
The Albert Lee sig looks nothing like the St Vincent sig.
                  anywho, to each their own.

There is something to be said for guitars that are true signatures, unlike most signature strats / teles these days that are the same guitar with minimal changes.

It would also help to watch the video.

I could say "it's an ugly guitar" about a heckuva lot of metal guitars.
to each their own. I think it's a damn good design.
Yeah it's angular. But the design is very coherent with the possible exception of the headstock (which is their trademark thing so presumably it was non-negotiable). Each part of the design hangs together with every other part. It's a strong look, no doubt, and it's going to be hated by many. But it's the way the parts feed into the whole that really does it for me.

So many new designs are either weak (a classic design just softened to an insipid point) or incoherent (Gibson's much loathed Firebird X being the ultimate example). This is strong and coherent: an angular Firebird body, with a retro space-age feel and shining sci-fi type hardware. Works for me for sure.
I do agree about the Albert Lee guitar. It's like a poor artist tried to draw a Stratocaster from memory after having seen one once 5 years before.
