  • Exposing your acoustic guitar to prolonged heat.

Hello All

I have lots of 1 hour breaks at varsity, so I thought that would be the prefect time to practice. But the problem is, it gets very hot here, and I normally don't park in shade. So my car becomes like a greenhouse hahahaha.

Would it be very bad if I leave my guitar in that heat for about 4 hours?
I have a Yamaha if that makes a difference.
Even if I don't have a guitar case?

Yes, and get one. Gig bags are cheap.
Awesome - so it won't get so damaged in the heat?

It WILL get damaged in the car. You need to take it with you wherever you go, or leave it at home. Also, it may get stolen from the car. Don't leave your guitar in the car.
Oh yea, I see - take it with into the class
Guitars left in car boots. Bad idea. My guitar cases can attest to that with peeling trim. If you can find a office or someone in admin where you can leave your guitar in relative stable temperatures. Else get a padded soft case with back straps and take it where you go. Never leave it in your car.
Almost forgot, grow long hair, wear shaggy denims and toe eater sandals. Guaranteed to work as non verbal pick-up. ?

Hahahahaha I got the long hair, but it's with skinny jeans and black shoes? How will that work? ?

                  for insecure girls , perhaps.

no man, get real jeans. be rock ?
Never leave your acoustic in a car during the day. Sudden changes in temperature wreak havoc on wood. Solid wood guitars would be in more danger than laminate guitars.
But regardless, never leave your acoustic guitar in a car. If you do have to, keep it brief and open your windows slightly.
get one of those gig bags that you can carry on your back
