Hey ?
I've been aware of this cyber joint for a while now but never felt compelled to take a peek inside until recently; and so I did, and so I likey. I call Cape Town home and I've been playing the guitar on and off for the last decade, but know almost nothing of music/guitar theory and even less about gear :-[
It all began with punk rock and joining a Blink 182 cover band as a bassist, then I came upon Children of Bodom and my ears haven't been the same since. I joined a metal band shortly after and together we thrashed and writhed about incandescently for 5 or so years. I didn't play much after that and found my tastes changed rapidly without the "job" of writing a specific genre for a specific band.
Fast forward a few years and I started playing again, only now its the acoustic guitar and I love me some blues and jazz, especially of the gypsy variety. I play a bit of this and that and hope to eventually form an acoustic band of some sort.
Most of my guitars are entry level stuff and I'm hoping that when--at the end of the year, perhaps--I'm ready (read: afford) to purchase something better, I can learn from all of you what it is that I should look out for for.
I currently own a Tanglewood TSF Evolution (black), an Epiphone Chet Atkins SST Studio (black), a Squire Telecaster (not sure on model... Affinity maybe...), and an ESP M-100 Ltd (black/grey). All very dull to the eye, but nice to the touch. I also own a keyboard and a violin, neither of which I have gotten around to learning ?
Yeah, thats all. See ya on the boards!
