Thankyou, found the topic and have asked already. Hope they are not too busy to answer.
    Until now...nothing.
I think it's weird I can't find the brand that fits Gibson and Fender...
    Ok, I try again.

Could anyone please tell me if you know an electronic parts shop in Joburg or Pretoria where I could find the CTS pot and can buy it online ? It seems a very difficult thing to find.( for me, I hope)

      Thanks again.

I don't know, but CTS are fitted by alla Fender and Gibson, so...
Expansion on this post. I am craving the sound of Mark Knopfler for my Squire (Once you have stopped choking and laughing) any suggestions on PUPs besides purchasing a Pensa

Monster tone pickups...they won't be cheap though. I have similar single coils in my schecter...they sound great.

They say that he was using a 60's strat for sultans of swing era stuff (in position 2 & 4) - so the guys generally reckon a lower output (<6k) pup can get you there. From what I read, maximum quackage in pos 2 & 4 needs a bit of height adjustment and a non reverse wound pup as the middle pup - also adjusting the pup heights before replacing seems a easy test - try it before replacing?

I'm no purist though - I'd get a set of vintage style kinmans...the single coil hum irks me and my set are dead quiet. A pricey upgrade for a squire perhaps!

Maybe check out Neil Pincus @ Rude Rock pickups https://www.facebook.com/RudeRockPups, only read good things about his work.

You will get CTS's from Music connection but will cost some

I use Bourns and they are pretty good.... the top-end models gets to be pretty pricey as well, a regular audio taper 24mm pot is about R35. available at RS electronics the top end (blue & black) is around 150 - 200 bucks.

                here is the range

PS: if you find the difficult to find RS website search for "gtr" and they will show up

By the way Audio/Logarithmic pots differ in taperage curves (%resistance @50% rotation), Many pros have pots designed for a 30% curve if memory serves me correctly, "standard" taperage is around 45-35% ish, also relatively easy to modify that curve. Interesting that a 300k pot seems to be the prefered value for a strat

                "Quackage" ?
Attila, do you thing RS will have those small 1Meg solid shaft pots for a Jazzmaster roller?
Wiring kits these days come in at around R650 bucks for the cheapest option.....
I recently got some CTS pots and actually was quite dissapointed when comparing them to the Chinese ALPHAS?
