I agree with the Prince one! I recently shared that same solo on facebook! It's so unexpected but he pulls it off spectacularly!
Prince always makes these lists, quite rightly so since most people only know him for Purple Rain... he has a lot more to offer than that.
For me the number 1 underrated guitarist has to be Mark Tremonti. People often write him off as the guitarist for that heavy pop rock outfit Creed with the douchebag vocalist, but he is seriously amazing.
