Absolutely stunning! Happy NGD and well done for pulling the trigger, that's the sort of axe that can provide a lifetime of happiness!
NGD: Fender Old Growth Redwood Telecaster
You got it! Nice! ?
Gorgeous! If it plays anywhere near as well as it looks, it'll be a keeper. Congrats and enjoy.
Congratulations- that's stunning!
Why did you ever doubt yourself? ??? You Lucky Bastard! :'( Enjoy! ?
great buy .... envious as hell ........ please post how you feel the "old growth" compares to say a standard alder body ....
Quite the looker. Nice!
Thanks all, I'm thrilled with it.
The guy to answer the questions about how it sounds and how it compares to other regular bodied Tele's is actually Manfred, who happened to be close by and very kindly offered to go and check it out and give it a try for me. A huge thanks to Manfred for doing this for me, and also thanks to EZ who also offered. The way in which members of this community help each other out is what makes it a great place to hang out.
Also, I recall some time back, someone asked about a shop advertising guitars on Gumtree calling themselves "Electric Avenue" and based in Bellville, Cape Town and whether or not they are legit. Well, this guitar came from them and I can highly recommend dealing with Nasim, who was nothing but professional, communicated well, and ensured that the guitar was very well packed to ensure it got to me in perfect condition.

A real beaut!
(So, did she spend the night with you? In your bedroom on a stand or perhaps in the same bed??. I love waking up and opening my eyes to find my road kill Tele gazing down lovingly at me.)

Some very quick impressions.
The 9's it came with have to go. Will restring with 10's when I get home.
Played it unplugged for about an hour last night and I like the feel of the guitar, particularly the neck. It was comfortable immediately.
Plugged it into the 'wreck this morning for 5 minutes before work. Wow! Match made it heaven!

That qualifies as a family heirloom. In fact, I'd insist on being buried with it rather.
Very nice dude, congrats!!!
Thanks guys.
Having had the guitar for little over a week now, I can say that I absolutely love this guitar. It is superb. That's from an out and out Les Paul fan. It's the perfect complement to my Les Pauls.

FYI. I just played a secondhand one of these at Bothner's Claremont - at 21K (IIRC - don't quote me). Light, responsive, nice chunky neck. Bit of buckle rash on the back, otherwise good condition. What let it down completely was the .009 gauge strings it was fitted with. Get some real man's strings on it and it'll sing...
