This section, or the general guitar one ?

OK, so i got in contact with Lance, and within a week or two, i had this on my door step.

FANTASTICALLY EASY TO WORK WITH HIM, and he is super friendly and accommodating.

This is the first LP-shaped guitar i got since i sold my Zakk Wylde Epi in 2007.
It is also the first brand new guitar (not used) that i bought since 2003.

It is very hard to compare it with any other Gibson Les Paul, as the only other LP that i play (every now and again) is my brother's LP Std.

Got the guitar today, and very first thoughts are :

* the neck is fantastic. (kinda between my Gibson SG & my old Zakk Wylde LP)
* the fret ends are perfect (huge pet-hate of mine, if they are not / deff a deal breaker for me)
* pick ups sounds HUGE (fat & full / 'bigger' sounding than my Duncan A2P set. Is that even possible ?)
* at 4.212 kg's it must be a solid slab of wood.

These were taken in the spare bedroom, under crappy energy-saving lights.
So the colour is deff not accurate. Still, not too bad for ISO 3200 photos i s'pose.
I will take MUCH better images tomorrow in the sun (raining today)

OOH nice. Congrats. Is it a LS160?

I'm not surprised the Tokai Pickups sounds fatter than the Alnico II Pros. I put my Seymour Duncans into my Tokai once (Alnico II Pro neck and Pearly Gates Bridge) and while they sounded decent, they didn't sound as good as the Tokai pickups (and nowhere near as good as the Bareknuckles that's in there now).

    BTW, Great pics.

        LS160 ? . . . not even.

        It is an LS92 . . . can you believe it ?

According to the Tokai Registry, the current LS92, is the older LS85, from the 80's.

I am sooo glad that i did NOT buy the Gibson Studio when i was in the States, 4 months ago.
Nearly pulled the trigger in the San Fran Guitar Center.

BTW, Guitar Center San Fran is thee friendliest and most knowledgeable GC i have ever been in !
And i have been in at least 5-6 diff ones.
Sheesh, that's so nice. And great pics. Thanked ?
What a beauty, and that's always been my favourite finish on those Tokais. Congrats
Probably the best bang for buck available anywhere for this type of guitar.

              Congratulations.
Again, thank you very much to all !

                Bang-fo-buck ? . . . i deff think so !

I also striked it very lucky to deal with Lance directly.
The only reason i managed to do so, is that my wonderfull 1 million population strong city, better known as P.E, has NO Tokai dealer ?

Can you guys believe it ?
ONE Million people and NO Tokai dealer in a city this big ?

Luckily Lance recognized my predicament and after me pleading with him, decided to help me out.

Come on P.E, we NEED a Tokai dealer down here >☹

                . . . i am already thinking Tokai 335.
Drool drool! May I never touch your Tokai. You will not have enough rags. I now keep mine behind lock and key as it stays wet!
                    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . my (((stereo))) rig

Gibson SG could not make it for this shot.

Watch this space for a three-some, cumming soon, to a computer screen near you.
You sir, have an incredible rig!

NOT gonna tell you just how looong it took me to get to this point.

                          PS : still need some pic's of your Tokai . . . wink-wink !

As a matter of fact, I've been to that Guitar Centre too, walked out with all their 10 gauge D'Addario XL strings ?
                              Do you smell that?
                              That guitar reeks of class.
                              Great looking instrument.
