I know that a fair number of you okes use EZDrummer. I see today they have released EZDrummer 2 and without having gone into it in too much depth, it does seem like quite a nice upgrade to the existing package.

Have any of you had a look at it yet? Reckon it's worth the €79?

I'll reserve judgement on the new one until I try it, but it looks good.

One thing about EZD is the stock kit is pretty weak, so budget for one of the addon kits too (which paradoxically are all great).
Yeah, it really looks good. Love that new interface... ooooh

I see that one of the difference is that EZD2 comes with 5 drum kits where EZD only had 2 kits (of which one is that seemingly useless Cocktail kit. I'd be curious to know what kits EZD2 includes. Maybe that in itself is enough reason for me to upgrade.

I also like the fact that EZD2 includes a percussion library for stuff like tambourine, finger snaps and shakers. The tambourine specifically always seemed like a hole in EZD to me.
Having spent a small fortune getting EZD1, plus a few add on packs, only to not have it work in Protools 8 LE or Sonar X1 Producer, I am quite reluctant to spend anymore money on this program, however, the one factor still has me interested... Its apparently able to be used as a complete stand alone, which should allow me to create drum tracks, then record the audio into my DAW? Its a long way around things, but it may just be my answer? Question is, do I want to spend another 79 euros chancing it?

          Regards
          G!
The demo videos I've seen of it on Youtube make it look quite incredible from a songwriting perspective. For example, you can hash out a beat on the kick and snare just by clicking the GUI and then it will recommend beats similar to what you just programmed.

Funny - my EZD works fine in X1...
