Help us decide on the new logo

Hey guys,

We're having the logo redesigned and we just can't decide on the machine-heads and headstock options below. Please vote for your favourite.

NB: The font-kerning will be fixed after we've decided on the logo.

Dunno. It seems too much like a rip-off of the Paul Bothner logo. Surely we can do better than that?

Edit: and maybe we can lose the gradients while we're at it ?

That was my initial reaction ?

But we can't change that now. We're too far down this road to go back and start over.

As for the gradients - it's just a background the designers provided us so we could see it as close to "in context" as possible.

It's not about who is better and who was first but about perceived association. If that's what you want then its great.

I think the new logo looks great, and I prefer concept 2.

I can't say either of them appeal.
The white around the black text looks rather amateur to me. (From a design perspective.)
Just my 2c. You don't have to agree with me.

I looked at this and thought I'd seen it before. But where? Turns out it's reminiscent of the Music Connection logo. So at least we know it's not a secret sign that GFSA is in bed with Bothner. Look like everybody had the same idea.

The colours may be a differentiator, and either of the proposals looks more professional and more current than the existing logo.

It looks nothing like bothners one. What a guitar forum can't have a guitar? haha, thats silly. Bothners has had the same Gibson-esque one for a while, this is more a fenderish in my opinion haha.

Leave the word "Guitar" out, link the bottom white line of the guitar pic to the "Forum" et voila. (only smart people will figure this out maybe ? )
Maybe you can make the background in a sunburst color ?
If not concept 2 will do for me.

At first I thought this was a 'spot the difference' contest?! I only noticed after two coffee's and 5 minutes of consciously gazing at the two that there is a minute amount of difference between the two, and that being in the headstock area.

After noticing that, I came to the conclusion that I need another coffee.

HAving said all that, I'd go with option two, or the current logo! ? Option 1 looks like they forgot to finish it off.

Really ....I don't see what the new logo fuss is about !! ?

Cause where the logo should be at the top of the page is a big ass advertisement window trying to make me buy an "all new " GM M4 car, insurance for persons aged 25 or a Gibsomething or another never heard of them...........
