Recently the Takamine G series acoustic i use for shows, started giving the "Low-batt" light.
i put in a new battery and still the same, even dough the guitar is working perfectly, the light does disappear when i plug in the cable.

Any ideas of what could cause this ?
Are you sure the replacement battery is OK. Wouldn't be the first time a "new" battery was flat...

i will check if i have any other batteries here i can test with

I used a Duracell for about 6 months, the new one i put in is an Energizer
Brand's got nothing to do with it (although tests show that Energizers do last a little longer on average than Duracell). Can be shelved at a supermarket too long (there's a 5 year shelf life for an alkaline). And sometimes you just get a dud...

Ok i have tried a few different batteries, all doing the same, my guess is some blew inside.

Manfred is right, I opened the pre-amp and checked for dry joints etc, unfortunately mostly surface mount components and therefore very difficult to find the problem. Replacement pickup has been fitted and all is sorted.
