Boss Blues Driver

Anyone got a Blues Driver for sale, preferably in JHB? I'm busy completing my board and I'm impatient... I see there's one on Gumtree in Durbs though.

Found out that its a pedal used by a couple of my favourite bands for their OD sound. Anyone got any views on it?

Got the Ibanez Tubescreamer valve amp 8) and the Joyo Vintage Overdrive, basically a clone of the TS 8) Interested in trying them together, or using the BD as a boost

I've always thought it is Boss' biggest "sleeper" pedal (John Mayer helped change that tho). Far more transparent than a TS but with a bit of a gritty edge to the drive. It is very dynamic and does the edge of breakup thing very well.

Only thing is it can be a bit bright with some amps/guitars. Easily cured with a mod (lots available for it - if you want to DIY, Brian Wampler wrote a great how-to article for Premier Guitar a while back).

Oh wow. I think I have found the tone I didn't know I was looking for 8)

With the TS9 (yes, I bought that too...) in front with just a little gain and the Blues Driver wailing after it (tried them the other way around but this just sounds better to me) I have a sound I love.

First tried it with a tele and it was good, then the LP Junior absolutely loved it, as did the humbuckers of the SG. Chuffed.
