  • Pedaltrain available in SA

I see Pedaltrain are available here now. TID are bringing them in.

Also interested to see the new power supplies they are bringing out soon:

- The Powertrain, which has 8 outs (four isolated and four not) and one of the isolated outputs is switchable between 9, 12, 15 and 18V DC.

- The Volto, a very interesting rechargeable lithium battery powered supply, which is about the same size as a smart phone and can supply up to 2A.

Wow, those are awesome. Any idea on price and where they are available?
Any more info on what the smallest available Pedaltrain is? I really want one but the ones I've seen are more suited to 10+ pedal setups, compared to my 4-5 setup.
The shipment is arriving next month and should be available via most music stores.

Estimated retail prices are as follows (remember it depends on the state of the Rand on the day they clear):
PT Nano SC – 14 x 5.5 Pedalboard with gig bag R 850 INC VAT
PT Mini SC – 20 x 7 Pedalboard with gig bag R 1120 INC VAT
PT JR SC – 17 x 12.5 Pedalboard with gig bag R 1595 INC VAT
PT JR HC – 17 x 12.5 Pedalboard with hard case R 3100 INC VAT
        PT 1 HC – 22 x 12.5 Pedalboard with hard case R 2200 INC VAT
        PT 2 SC – 24 x 12.5 Pedalboard with gig bag R 1995 INC VAT
        PT 2 HC – 24 x 12.5 Pedalboard with hard case R 3495 INC VAT
        PT 3 SC – 24 x 16 Pedalboard with gig bag R 2495 INC VAT
        PT 3 HC – 24 x 16 Pedalboard with hard case R 4695 INC VAT
PT Pro SC – 32 x 16 Pedalboard with gig bag R 2600 INC VAT
PT Pro HC – 32 x 16 Pedalboard with hard case R 4995 INC VAT
PT Grande HC – 42 x 16 Pedalboard with hard case R 7195 INC VAT
        PT 1250 – Power supply R 3695 INC VAT
PT VT1 – Rechargeable lithium ion supply R 1895 INC VAT

If there is enough interest, perhaps we can organize a special introductory price for GFSA members (no promises, but I can only ask). PM me if you're interested and if I get enough response, I'll speak to TID. At least

The Nano is the smallest, but I'd say you need a Mini. Also depends on if you have anything big like a wah or a volume pedal... Sizes included above.
Definite interest from me: my Warwick Rockcase is getting a little long in the tooth... the handle, always a weak point on the Rockcases, has broken and been repaired 3 times, and I live in fear of the handle going when I least expect it and it damaging my car, or breaking my foot... Also if you want to angle the Rockcase towards you you've got to prop it up on something, whereas these are designed to be angled towards the player... very nice! Count me in if you can get enough interest to get a forum discount!
This IS great news! I have been thinking about getting a proper pedalboard.

I was bored ?, here are the dimensions in centimeters (to the nearest cm):

            PT Nano – 35 x 14
            PT Mini – 50 x 17
            PT JR – 43 x 32
            PT 1 – 55 x 32
            PT 2 – 61 x 32
            PT 3 – 61 x 40
            PT Pro – 81 x 40
            PT Grande – 106 x 40
Would love to get the PT 1250 – Power supply. Will make things alot easier, but man its not exactly cheap.
Great news! The pedaltrain boards are really great. I have used a Pedaltrain 2 and currently have the Pro. Really recommended ?
                  The question is though:
Is the soft case good enough to protect the pedals or does one need to splurge on the heavy ATA case?
                    I use one. Highly recommended

Like hard case v gig bag for guitar, it depends on your situation. If you need to pack 'n stack your gear for transport, a hard case is always the best option. If you need sling-over-shoulder portability then the soft case is lighter and easier to carry. Certainly when you look at the investment you have riding in your pedals, it's worth the extra money to go hard case.

Good supplies never are... Also remember, those are retail prices, so you should be able to haggle with your local store.

Very true. You get what you pay for!

What's the skinny on a Guitar Forum bulk deal? I got a mail from Norio last week or the week before, is this still in progress or have I missed the thread for this somewhere?
There's been a problem with that. I'll let you know as soon as I do.
