So... I bought the JCM800 2203KK three months ago, and whilst I love it to bits, Ive found my musical tasts's (as in what I used to play, and like to play now) have changed some. The gain this amp is able to deliver is nothing short of OMG.... I think I need to change my shorts quick... BRB...
Im looking for something a little more crunchier and older sounding. Call it vintage rock iif you will.
This morning I went and tested a Vox AC30 C2 (with Greenbacks) (not C2X with the Blue POS) and I can honestly say.... its BEAUTIFUL... but it doesnt "speak to me" like its supposed to.
I have an opportunity to buy a Fender Bassman... but Im not sure it can live up to the 50's sound, and Ill more than likely be dissapointed.
HOWEVER. As fate would have it, someone has a Marshall 1959SLP Plexi (translated... a celestial incarnation) for me for a good price.

Ive put my current JCM on sale here, and will soon put it on both BOB and Dumbtree to sell it.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

That 100 Watt plexi will be crazy loud when it drives because there is no master volume to control the drive with. Have you taken this into account?
Go big or go home  ?arty: ?
Crazy loud is far better to me than, okayish'ly satisfied.
Righ now, Im lbeing assaulted by a really bad sounding Kwaito wannabe bunch of losers, yelling and yeliping a bunch a loserish bs. (I live near a popular concert area).
If they dont stop within the next 10 minutes after hearing them for about 2 hrs... I will push my 1/2 stack towards the open area of their grounds and be playing them some early AC/DC and Sabbath.

Other than that... I may have to consider an attenuator long run.

Forget the attenuators. If you get a SLP let me install a PPIMV for you.
Buy a Bogner XTC head...it's easy to ship a head into SA.

Do it. Push it up to the window and play 'Children of the Grave', I'm listening and I'm 1 500 k's away.

You know you may think Im bs'ing.... but I did do it >☹
Our front door opens up onto a down slope that looks down onto the botanical gardens where they were making the racket.
I wheeled my rig outside the front door used a flat palm and stroked the knobs up to 10 in one move and played Mr Crowley, Paranoid and Problem Child :-[
Initially I was standing in front of the rig, but after 2 minutes I thought I may throw up, so I moved off to the side.

When I was done, everything was quiet except the dogs in the road barking.
Packed up, went inside, put the alarm on, and went to bed ?
