Sorry for the delay in posting the competition this month. I haven't been paying enough attention to my mailbox lately. G-man has an excellent theme for us this month (see below). All entries to be PM-ed to me by the 25th.

Basically start your entry out and see if you can flip it's mood 180 degrees in 2 minutes or less while still carrying the main idea of the song. Try end up with something that conveys a sense of transition or change, or, evolve the whole thing as you go, keeping the central melody or theme of the song.
See if you end up somewhere completely different but with a hint of familiarity. Or stick a sub theme in on it. For example "Progress of a fire (flames to ashes)", or "Winter to Spring", or even "Life Cycle of the Mosquito", or a genre fade from Punk into Blues. Try be subtle and blend them in or do some sudden time changes, but it has to sound controlled. ?
