Start is a couple weeks away, thought I'd open the chat corner ? Got invited to join the official premiership fantasy league, apparently it's pretty low maintenance so I thought I'd also just create one for interested parties on GFSA. Sign up here if you're keen: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ League code: 862684-221726

Giggsy wrote ICM, what do you think of the reports of Soton being sold? Especially as Pochettino said he would leave Saints if Cortese left

there shit brewing that's for sure , COrtese has left by all accounts, Po may leave in sympathy....

bit of a meltdown , seems the top players up for sale too but don't want to pre empt the gun cos not sure what is going to happen....

understand the rational of the owner though , we all want money eh

Edit: just wanted to add, the current owners "saved" saints when they bought the club ...I believe saints would of gone the route of portsmith otherwise.... saitns were in shit back then .....

IceCreamMan

I see on my feed that Po has a news conference at 5 our time....

IceCreamMan

Po is staying ....

Cortese's exit is one that should not be taken lightly though, the man turned the club around in his tenure together with the buyout by the current owners ole man. He took some unpopular decisions which paid off..lets face it I was not happy with the dismissal of the previous manager but turned out good ...

we wait n see, I don't agree with selling the players either but as owner of a business (and lest we forget football is a business unless one owns pompey) they can make unilateral deicisions as suits them as much as it grates my nuts

IceCreamMan

its embarresing to watch united play these days, it were fun at first when they lost the odd game but now its downright rude and embarresing ....

lets hope they can beat sunderland on Wednesday to record their second victory of the year

IceCreamMan

A big game tonight ...shoooweeeeeee...... could be the end of united's dominance should they exit Europe...the revenues it brings will be a huge loss and the chance of attracting great players diminishes too...are we seeing the end of an empire I wonder

Shibbibilybob

haha of this I am not sure.
Personally, I hope to see Moyes remain in charge until at least February...let him ruin next season too ?

IceCreamMan

Old Trafford - champions league free zone ?

IceCreamMan

Liverpool - City was a cracker of a game wow

and glad to see we could help Ole out...but prolly not enough

Wish I'd seen the game! Having no dstv is a real thing :-\
So glad LFC is on top now!

Someone said it well on twitter, "This game is (was) the reason that nobody except Chelsea fans would want Chelsea to win the league"

Well then I must be a Chelsea fan ?

United losing their mojo has been hard to take, but seeing Liverpool doing so well has probably been even harder. At least with City and Chelsea you can kind of use the sugar daddy excuse...

Saw a great headline; Fergie was end of an era, this is end of an error ?

Shibbibilybob

hahaha after his sacking united shares rose higher than they have been since May 2013.
I really wish he had stayed another season.

Fergie's error!

1. He left Moyes a team that was past it's sell by date, with mostly average players
2. He chose Moyes

Time gonna tell ...... lest we forget the players were champions just 3 months earlier.....fergie's talent was getting more out of the players than they were capable of , a great manager....

I always feel that managers like moyes and hodgson manage to do well with limited resources, put them in a place with unlimited resources an they fail ..... England gonna struggle methinks...hodgson was fantastic at Fulham but sucked at Liverpool....

A time of transition was inevitable, and I am sure most fans would have been happy if there were signs of Moyes putting his own stamp on things - but there was none - he turned united into exactly what he had done at Everton, losing to the teams above them and beating the teams below, very defensive minded, tactically limited. Yes, Fergie chose him, but I am sure even he couldn't have predicted such a rapid decline with a team who were Champions by 11 points and boosted with 85 million pound of new players.

Like I said elsewhere, when the board saw how Everton have flourishing without Moyes, how could they trust him to lead United forward? I feel for him - I would have loved nothing more than for him to do well

Still average players that don't deserve more than seventh on the table. Sorry Giggsy but that's the truth, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Tottenham, Everton all have stronger squads!

It's almost as though the Yes-We-Can attitude has been passed on to Liverpool.....
