Start is a couple weeks away, thought I'd open the chat corner ? Got invited to join the official premiership fantasy league, apparently it's pretty low maintenance so I thought I'd also just create one for interested parties on GFSA. Sign up here if you're keen: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ League code: 862684-221726

ha ha ? Let's hope so.

Arsenal looked a bit flat against WBA, away draw not a bad result considering their recent 'giant' slaying.

sheesh , but things are 'deurmekaar' in the EPL. The top 3 from last year are incosistent, ManU 9th? Chelsea 5th, Man City thank goodness are not performing . LFC, Ars at the top with Ars 1 on goal diff. No idea who's gonna take the title. Early days still, and ya, waiting for that LFC slump...1 to 6th in 10 games or so... urg.

well well well.............

a draw at old Trafford is like winning...although mebbe not so much these days ? but i'll take it

Although maybe not for united fans, it's shaping up to be a legendary season.
My team dispatched Norwich with relative ease ... Aaron Ramsey is an absolute beast.

Well played Soton, poor substitutions cost us the game (and the width of the cross bar). Pity that while we're going through our worst slump in 20 years, other teams are playing their best football in 20 years.

Still a long, long way to go - and could very well be a long season for us United fans, but form is temporary and class is permanent. A top 3 finish would be a good season IMHO

On a side note, I really like Schneiderlin - I used to always buy him as 17 year old in Football Manager

If the Saints are serious about qualifying for Europe, they really can't afford to be dropping 2 points to these mid-table teams ?

? too true ....

sadly top 4 is not possible, top 7 would be a real push and I still don't think it is possible however ....current form is stellar and they guys are playing out of their socks at the moment, the belief is at a super high..... I anticipate around 12th at the end of the season which I think is realistic considering their team depth and resources.....

not in my wildest dreams would I have predicted something like this .....and had the crappy loss not happened saints could of been higher an leading at one stage too.....

IceCreamMan

I grinning like a the proverbial Cheshire cat...

only blot is the fact amazulu got a hiding and Anderlecht (my home side) got one too........ but we will beat em Parisian snail eating slugs in the replay....unlikely

IceCreamMan

the dream season continues...... thumping Hull was amazing

ActionArnie

Can see why Soton is third, two giveaway goals the difference in the end. Wanyama is a beast.

what an unmitigated disaster..... cost us points at stoke a month ago with a stupid goal ....and yesterday was diabolical.....
not good enough at premiership level .....ppl make errors but his has cost valuable points.... 2 errors in a month works on his confidence too.....we see what happens

Shibbibilybob

Certainly two howlers in quick succession, but Boruc is generally and amazing keeper, and very likely better than any new candidates you could lure to Southampton in January.

Riaan-Combrink

Wasn't LFC vs Stoke just English Football in its traditional sense at its best? Thumping rain ... eight goals. Sturridge's goal was unbelievable. Now that the SAS (Suarez and Sturridge) are back ... who knows? But this is when the lack of depth in the LFC squad may start to show up in the final stretch. But as a YNWA boy - what a season so far!

Reason for the post ... for Giggsy and the boys. This is brilliant:

Is that the one with Mourinho? Haven't laughed like that in a while (other than when watching my beloved United play)

united been interesting to watch , the decline has been steep and am surprised at the patience of the owners. Committing 200 million pounds to the team is an amazing thing but how can a winning team 6 months later need 200 million...200 million keeps saints in BPL for a decade I reckon.

saints - well the bubble has burst as expected however no relegation fears so that's a plus. a lil dream is to play Europe next season and realistically not far off that however the depth of squad not there.

Liverpool missed opportunities , them 2 games they lost over xmas effectively puts em out .....also not enough depth I reckon. I expect unitied to overtake them.

who is gonna win the league..man city looking very good I reckon and getting great results so I have to pip them but arsenal looking good to and no one can write off the special one...so man city favourites with gunners an Chelsea in with a strong shout....

Relegations : man I like ole , he is a great character an I would hate it if his team is relegated but looking like it...the games I have seen they been woeful and they should of stuck it to sunderland ...too bad..... speaking if sunderland they seem to have taken great heart beating united and one more win puts em out of trouble, next game at st marys though so too bad ?

Crystal palace and Cardiff I reckon def relegation teams, third a bit more difficult to pick ....I love Sam allardyce so hope not west ham although I suspect they going to battle , as is sunderland, Fulham an Norwich...

Oh no ICM? What's happening? Are the wheels falling off the bus? That's a damn shame ☹

Expected to be honest, at the start of the season I would of taken 9th place with a huge smile...... with the heights scaled ninth is a bit of a let down (assuming 9th is attained at the end of the day) however the lack of depth in the squad was always going to catch up .....fairytale season as it is and there is a chance of a top 7 if results go our way.... the reality of the premiership is that its a tough tough league and you need bucks and lots of them to do well... something not plentiful for the unfancied teams... apart from the big 4 or 5 the others struggle ...

but a great season, hoping for a top 7 placing, imagine Europa football next season, would take a lot of luck and depends who is in the FA cup final etc etc ....but you never know, stranger things have happened

giggsy

ICM, what do you think of the reports of Soton being sold? Especially as Pochettino said he would leave Saints if Cortese left
